& for a bonus this man turned a great album into a classic album

I lost track a long time ago of how many times I have listened to The Minstrel Show and Murray's Revenge. It has to be in the thousands.

Agreed. Also, don't sleep on the Skyzoo album.

I'm patiently waiting on the 9th Wonder/Wale Mixtape

.

Agreed.

I wish more artists would do collabos where a producer does the entire album. It makes for a better album, IMO.

ive been looking for it but somebody told me Columbia doesn't release anything explicit for remix albums and %#$$ like that

I agree with Murs 3:16 and The Listening. The rest of those joints are mediocre to above average IMO.

I still think Minstrel Show is one of the most disappointing albums in the last 5 years. The Chittlin Circuits had me GASSED for that joint. They could'vehonestly made one of the best hip-hop albums of at least this decade if they had been more thorough with that theme.

9th and murs is extra nice.
anyone check out the murs and 9th wonder album- sweet lord?
it released right before murs for prez in ltd release
have a wrapped copy, have yet to check it out tho

Naw that reasoning doesn't fly with me. To often people get caught up with "the theme this, the concept that," i could care less, maybe itstopped it from being a definitive classic but at the end of the day, literally every song on the album is good music. That's all i really care about.Album is a 4/5 imo. If it wasn't a fallow up to The Listening n's would be beasting over that **!$

As far as the rest of the albums being average to above average, i gotta disagree. Have you listened to God's Step Son or the Buckshot joints? Jeanius wasaverage? That's the first time ive heard that.

it's cool, if you enjoyed the first two you'll definitely like it, not on par with the predecessors but for what it was it was excellent. I'd giveit a 3.5/10 which could be a little generous.

I still haven't checked out Murs for Pres though

I can listen to the second half of the Minstrel Show. It all starts to sound the same. But agreed other than that

Between the Chittlin Circuits and Phonte's interviews leading up to the album, they were hyping the !%!% out of this whole concept, so I'mgonna have to strongly disagree and say that it DOES play a huge factor, especially considering that the album wasn't even better than CC 1.5

As far as the others, the first Buckshot joint lands in the "above average" category. I've never been the biggest fan of Jean Grae, but her !%!%was cool too. An album with a couple bangers to me doesn't equal "certified piff from front to back."

CC 1.5 is classic mixtape itself. I'm just saying The Minstrel Show is enjoyable imo, i wasn't really paying enough attention to LB to fall into allthe hype at the time, certainly wasn't watching their interviews. With no prior bias going into it, i still think it's a good album at the least.

I'm not a Jean Grae fan either, I listened to her joint a couple of times and it didn't fit with my taste. For clarification though, there's amiddle ground between above average and certified piff/classic, The Listening is the only classic in this post (God's Step Son is damn good though).
