it's like these n' don't get it. The blindness is killing me. Dude probably hasn't even heard of a single album you listed.

Why would a machine/industry/system like something they can't control?
for an artist, you sure love conforming

if Jeezy got a Raekwon feature he'd realize how obsolete his wack style is.

but non hateful answer is... they don't sell albums. (anymore)

^don't be foolish, nobody is talking about the Wu's star power now, the thread got off topic and crews from the past were brought up...don't actlike you didn't know that Time
laugh.gif

How the hell are dudes acting like The Roc ain't even close to Wu.
1) you take Wu's whole discography and put it up agaonst jays and that alone roc almost wins
2)Beanie sigel IMO is just as good as rae and ghost
3)the inhouse production of Kanye/Just Blaze is the best ever period.
4) Cam Is no slouch in this rap game
5) The Roc up until dame left was maybe the most consistent rap label ever. Even rocafella's Spinoffs, Stateprop, Young gunz, dipset, have great albums.let's not forget now.
6) All the rocs outside endeavors were much more successful than wu's so there star power was bigger than wu's. I mean jus cuz wu wear came outdoesn't mean people really rocked it like that.

1. No, just stop. No roc or jay albums are near the Wu classics, only a case can be made for RD which IMO still isn't > Wu classics
2. IMO, he isn't even close to ghostface
3. Just Blaze is pretty sick but "best ever" .. nah, chill
4. Well, he was only nice pre-2000~ with CotC, his dipset days are
sick.gif

5. They had alright albums, but they still arn't seeing Wu in the 90's
6. #'s or clothing arn't everything.. peep the carter 3 or sean john or gunit for example
sick.gif
Wu is still one of the most successful crews in raphistory

The OP said "best roster"

Put up both rosters and compare 'em side by side and you will see for yourself. Who does Roc have worth mentioning nowadays ? Jigga, Beanie and Jada, that's about it.

you sir need to remove Sean Carters genitalia from your mouth immediately...you have absolutely zero credibility...this isn't even worthy of comparison butill feed the trolls anyway

Enter the Wu-Tang
Ironman
Supreme Clientele
Tical
Liquid Swords
Only Biult 4 Cuban Linx
Return to the 36 Chambers
6 Feet Deep
Wu-Tang Forever

alone

vs.

RD through AG

!!+? Are you serious fam? what the hell are you talking about? If it's your personal preference that's fine but to state than in an argument as fact isabsolutely ridiculous. Reasonable Doubt is the only Jay album on par with any of the albums i listed. (

the best ever? period? really? keep digging son...You talk to any respectable head and ask him who's on their list of top 5 producers all time youwill constantly hear RZA as an aswer. Just Blaze, eh occasionally. He's an all time great imo but RZA, Premo, Dre, and Pete Rock are just a differentechelon. Kanye? You'll get laughed at. If he gives us another 5 years with the same output (no 808's) as he has since day one then I'd be more thanwilling to consider it. Way to early for that though. At the end of the day in response to statement 3,

I'm done with this thread. The ****ery in here is ridiculous. I'd love to see the ages of the guys saying the Roc>Wu and compare them with the guyssaying Wu>Roc

To be fair the Roc is a top 5 all timecrew imo but the arguments being made in this thread disgust me

"Put up both rosters and compare 'em side by side and you will see for yourself. Who does Roc have worth mentioning nowadays ? Jigga, Beanie and Jada, that's about it. "

If u want to talk about relevance now who really cares about wu. Other than the dudes who think OBFCL2 is gonna be a classic even tho homie hasn't droppedclassic material in ten years

What has roc dropped that makes 'em better than Wu now ?

That new soft kanye pop garbage that came out this year ? Pro Tools >

What are you waiting on in 2009 from roc ? Blueprint 3 ?
laugh.gif

Wu > roc then, now and in the foreseeable future.

Are you gonna really sit here and tell me that there are nine hiphop albums, yet alone Wu tang Albums better than RD or Blueprint. Not only did you state sucha thing but then you said that jay's other work isn't even Close to these wualbums do you know how F'n rediculous that sounds.

Black Album
Vol 1
Streets is watching, and that's just jay.

The B.Coming
The Truth
Tough Love
Philadelphia Freeway
College Dropout
Late Registration
Come Home With Me
Purple Haze
Diplomatic Immunity
State prop 1& 2
- Not to mention the Hundreds of tracks and freestyles they had on the mixtape scene which WU never had to deal with. You jus sounding like another wu fanstuck in the 90's. And if your really talkin like every album yopu mentioned is a classic
roll.gif
, lets be serious.
- Typical for someone to bring the age argument. I'm 20 now so i was young during the Wu's time, but that doesn't effect my ears. RD may be myfavorite album ever and it dropped in 96. classic albums transcend time so i don';t wanna here that you had to experience it bull #*#.

i have the pillage, uncontrollable substance, and RZA's first solo....IN MY OPINION they didn'tage well for me. and i don't care what anybody says, tical is overated.

now if this was GZA, rae, or ghost, or even ODB then i'd see ya point.

hustlerspome.jpg

are better then those second-third wave of wutang albums....to think not is just hating on jim jones.

Let's be serious. If you even think for .02 seconds that any of the above albums are on the level of the albums listed by purplehazze, this discussion isover.

American Gangster mixed with Graduation is better than anything released by wu in the past 5 years. These arguments you try and make are nothelping mask your infatuation with the wu. I could argue the Early Wu but nobody from wu tang is remotely popping at all right now. And truthfully everyoneexcept for ghost and meth are living solely off things that dropped in the early nineties.

I'm dead serious. Ask around, the albums I posted are either widely regarded as classics or indisputable classics

Funny I'm actually a little bit younger than you. Maybe i shouldn't have brought age into it i just think the results would be telling. I feel youthough, i get hit with the youn'n +$!% all the time when i discuss hip hop with older heads. I know first hand that age doesn't always mean anything, hell my little brother is 15 and ill take his word over 75% of the people on the internet when it comes to music

I never said that. I listed nine Wu albums and proceeded to say the only Jay album on par with any of them is Reasonable Doubt, i didn't even say any ofthem were better than RD because i wouldn't agree with that. BP is good album, no more no less, however Ive argued about BP too many times in the last weekand im just not up for it. I'll give it to though just for the sake of argument. I'll also give you The Black Album because i love it and i feelit's the next closest behind RD. That still leaves you six Jay albums short of the nine Wu albums i listed.
laugh.gif
you want me to give you AG, Vol. 1-3, andBP2 also?

As for the other albums you listed, the only ones that are classic albums or even great are The B. Coming, The Truth, College Drop Out, & DiplomaticImmunity. I'll admit I haven't heard State Prop 2.
