wat up everyone, i go to school in milwaukee and want to TRANSFER. i got a 3.5 gpa this semester and am pumped.

i was wondering what school in florida you go to and if you like it and so on. also how easy was it to get into.

If you are a transfer student do they look at your high school stuff cause i was a c student and did bad on my ACT

iwant to go to usf, fiu, fau. but any school in florida will be a huge improvement form this crappy state i live in

i would suggest to look at all the schools web pages and see their requirements, and call and talk to someone. i got into FSU rather easily. athletics FTW.

these schools are on the cali school system steez - they only take people from florida, like 90% of the student body are in state.

not yet but when i come back from christmas break i will

and i dont mean UF in gainesville, i meant just all the shools in florida.

anybody go to florida atlantic university?

I go to FSU.

I love it, but they're not accepting that many transfers like they used to.
 
(I personally know 2 people who were accepted to Harvard undergrad and went to UF instead)

FAU is the ******ed stepchild of the florida university system. I'd go to Barry, Nova or St. Thomas and pay private school tuition before I go to FAU.

I went to UF and FIU. the entire state university system is suffering major budget cuts, it's not the place to be right now. FIU is getting better but losta lot of adjuncts due to budget cuts, I would still recommend it way before FAU. I don't know much about USF except that they have a decent mix of majorsetc. I think FIU has more national notoriety at this point than USF.

especially if you have your AA done colleges won't care about your high school grades.

my personal ranking of florida's public schools right now, in general independent of majors:

UF
FIU (graduate)
FSU
FIU (undergrad)
USF/UCF
FAU

There is no way FIU is above UCF, maybe in one or two majors, but as a whole UCF kills FIU. Also, UCF > USF, I thought that was widely known but I guessnot. While FAU isn't that good, I would still rank them above UNF, UWF, FGCU, etc. With the exceptions being UF, FSU, and UCF it is extremely easy to getinto any Florida school. If I were coming from out of state and looking to go to a Florida school I wouldn't consider anywhere after those three.
 
UCF > FIU in football maybe. UCF has a better historical record up to this point but FIU is quickly surpassing it. FIU is opening its med school next year,already has a very successful law and large business/MBA college and has the second highest standards from incoming freshmen in the state.

FIU is taking over.

You, my friend, must go to FIU and are trying to defend it. There is no way that FIU is the second highest school in Florida. I go to UCF and trust me it is alot harder to get into UCF then FIU, UNF, USF, and FSU. A lot of people I know got into FSU and didn't get into UCF. I also know a lot of dumb frickinpeople who got into FIU. And even they know they're dumb. And I think UCF is opening a med school soon so...

i go there, and have been for 2 and 1/2 years. the school is nice, but depending on your major....
im leaving because the communications department is horrible- as they recently lost a lot of funding. it leaves the students with really bad teachers and imjust fed up. im moving to miami and transferring to either UM or FIU.
what is your major? depending on your major, look into a school that would be more suitable for it. if youre undecided, then thats cool. i was undecided myfirst 2 years and FAU was great, but now that i know what i want to do, im leaving.

imo, dont go to fau. go to fiu! live in miami, ftw!

orlando is gross dont live there, sorry in advance orlando NTers

i love beaches and the south FL lifestyle, theres always so much going on!
