Top 20 rap albums of '08.

Seriously did people not listen to Cube's Raw Footage, there is no way there are 10 let alone 20 rap albums better than that this year

I will give that list a listen; how they not have Wayne on that list is suspect though

The only 2008 albums that receive heavy play from me was Theater of the Mind C3, Ice Cube's Raw Footage and a couple singles from Paper Trail. Beenlistening to some older hip-hop.

* Kanye's album was trash.

I co-sign on purplehazze96's list, but I'll put Pro Tools as top-20 and maybe Beautiful Minds, and God's Fury as honorable mentions. A History ofViolence was a huge let down though, and I was expecting better of The Hour of Reprisal.

I don't care how you feel about Lil Wayne...

But not having the top selling CD of the year and Top 10 selling of this DECADE on the list is just plain ******ed, no matter how much YOU didn't like it.

are you serious? what's ******ed is your logic. Wayne deserves to be in somebody's top 10 because he sold a hell of a lot? Even if they didn'tlike the album?

I really just don't understand kids today

It's funny how some people can come in here and tell you what SHOULD be on your list.

When Mayor made the thread saying everyone SHOULD be listening to "Real Hip-Hop" everyone went crazy.

Since he suggested Black Milk and he's an underground rapper he was labeled as a "Hip-Hop Elitist".

There's no difference between what he did and what some are doing in this thread.

It's all ignorance at the end of the day.

to honestly really defend Wayne against that Top 20 i'll have to give those albums a listen.

Wayne's cd was not the best "album"of his own , but I guess its more his year

, but Wayne's actual album in not top 20

Be real with me: is it because He is so popular and everyone wants to give exposure/praise to other artists or was his album that bad? (its a 3.5/5 album)

(I just got on the Wayne express just in the past semester or so )

Naw it has nothing to do with other artist or the dude being popular, the album is just poor imo. I'd give it a 2.5 maybe a 3 out of 5. Shoot Me Down andTie My Hands are by far the best songs on the album and the only ones i actually like a lot. Let The Beat Build is decent but the song is almost unlistenableafter multiple listens. Mr. Carter was decent as well, no more no less. I pretty much omit Comfortable from the equation, great song but i out played it whenit came out two years ago. Mrs. Officer is pretty good too, catchy and a good single. I actually LOVE Lolipop in the club for some reason. Therest of the album is trash to me. I need to listen to I'm Me though, for some reason my copy of C3 only had 15 tracks.
