DLP HD TV vs. LCD HD TV

For example, the Samsungs on Black Friday were 1080p and the picture quality on those were average, at best.

Well store displays use "show" room setting that is unrealistic.

Why not go to the store with model number in hand and see these tvs and then come back and order from online and save $1300?

ps:
it's not a ceiling mounted projector-- i don't know why that was being discussed.
Actually I edited my post, it was about projectors vs. LCD earlier.

And as far as seeing the T.V. quality in person...I'm looking to find a particular model that I know is a good TV (I'm leaning towards a Samsung), thenI'm going to find the best price for it. I just want a clean-#%# 56'' or bigger TV at the lowest possible price.

i don't understand what you're saying.. there are floor models not in the hi-fi presentation rooms that are on display all the time.

also, unless you're getting white glove delivery, i'd really avoid buying online.

I bought mine online. it came defective so I had to deal with lousy customer service to return it, then it finally came but UPS destroyed it so I had to waitanother couple weeks but eventually I got the right TV and it works fine so...

What the hell are some of y'all talkin about? Just cause it says 1080p don't mean %!!+

Honestly buying a TV online without seeing it in person isVERY risky. And to ppl saying the stores using unrealistic pictures

*tsk tsk* You couldn't be any more incorrect. Honestly unless the couch will beRIGHT infront of the Tv (DLP) get the LCD cause the viewing angles on DLPs are HORRIBLE.

Texas Instruments' DLP and Sony's SXRD are built on similar technology.

hands down, THE BEST picture quality currently available from any viewing distance.

LCD and plasma absolutely DO NOT compare in any way to DLP and SXRD.

if you're still thinking about getting a projector, Sony still makes SXRD projectors, but they discontinued the SXRD TV's because people have become
so infatuated with hanging their stupid TV on the wall.

i've owned 2 Sony SXRD TV's with the most current being the KDS-55A3000 which was rated as the best rear projection TV and is impossible to find.

And I'm mad dudes suggesting an Series 9 and XBR6 like this N wanna spend that much

Samsung 6 630 or Sony W for that 120 hz love. Plasma cheaper tobuy LCDs cheaper to run. Plus LCDs overall are more efficient.
