man, I made a plunge across the country from LA area to Atlanta ... Big change, didn't like it, moved back after 6 months ... good luck my friend

ive been wanting to get out of the south for a long time. i spend alot of time in the city and i feel this may be my only chance to better my self in lifesince no one down south can do anything for me.

I think it's a good change going from such a slow pace to a fast pace of a big city like NY, not the other way around! Where are you going to school?

nice, just make sure that you goto class! Community College makes it real easy to not show up ...

i would say stick to Queens or Brooklyn. I was born and raised in Queens and Manhattan, and love everything about it...Manhattan is way tooexpensive right now, so definitely look for some rooms in Queens...It may seem scarey at first, making such a big move by yourself, but you will be fine. Wishyou luck!

say goodbye to your social life. It'll take about a year or lil over for you to get your budget to where you can get out and spend like you use to. Billsare no joke. Try and get a place that includes utilities to help you out.

good advice. Take the plunge homie, life is about experience. If you are the type of person who learns form your experiences then you will come out a better manfrom this. I moved from NYC to Cali in 2k and havent been back since. If you find a chick or two they can help you out with some of the financial trouble orhelp take your mind off it.

do it..I'm thinking about it..i hate wisconsin, nothing good comes from this state..This summer I'm staying with my aunt in chicago to see if i wouldbe home sick and to get that experience. Only 3 months but still..

Damn, but to keep it real it might not work out how you have it planned. Pops didn't give you more time than that? Like someone else said you should havedone the reverse NYC might be to much to handle in your situation.

I've been thinking about moving to NYC but I doubt I'll do it in near future. I'm only 18 and live in Europe so it's a big change. Been in NYtwice and I absolutely love it.

Good luck man.

Im moving form New Jersey to Orlando florida in February for school...but i have family that im going to be living with down there...moving to NY is NOTcheap...and like the others said...it's going to be hard to be financially stable...if i was you i would try to stay with fam for a short period of timeuntil i can get on my feet and be a little bit more financially secure...and maintain a decent social life...
