Dope lyrics doesn't equal a good song as Canibus has proved (and Ibangs with old Canibus heavy). LL's longevity in the game is not a fluke. Dude makes good songs. With that said perspective is relative and I'll have to agree to disagree.
IMO LL is an overrated MC with mediocre rapping ability that has gotten by on the fact that sex sells and the Machine that is Def Jam
He started off well and there are a decent amount of songs throughout his catalogue that i like don't get me wrong but if u honestly believe that a couple hit songs scattered and pepperred throughout a larger catalogue makes up a great artist then you are entitled to your-able opinion
Why is that when there is a question of the GOAT, his name is never really brought up?
The majority of the ppl that are named most often are recognized for rapping above their competition, those that followed and those that preceded at an acceptionally high level.
IMO he hasn't been lyrically fit enough to fall into that category.
A part of me wanted to see him get at Jigga just so J could just go in on him. Even if J didn't go as hard as Canibus, he'd more than likely be considered the victor and L woulda got a taste of the whole influence/skill backlash.
Ppl want to know if or why Hip Hop is dead and its because Politics and standing has become a part of ppls perception of ill and tainted the labels.
