Yessir. If u got an artist from ya home town or somebody who makes it, there are gonna be ppl to hate on them from their home town. Now some of the reasons arereasonable but others are just not. Most ppl hate on "home town heros" off the strength of they doin better than them and came from the same spot.

U also have generation hate. Dudes who grew up on 90's rap music hate most if not all rap music from 2000 and beyond. It's as if to say it aint betterthan what u grew up on so it

Too much Joe Budden TV for you OP

Pap was nice for about 30 seconds then it hit everyone that he cant rap on beat to save his life and his punches are dumb corny
Red Cafe is very hit or miss

Because rap as a whole is stale right now. The reason various geographic areas are doing well is because they brought something different musically to thetable. Auto-tuner, hyphy, chopped & screwed, snap music, those are all variations of what has lately been a tired recipe of sampled beats mixed withpunchline rap lyrics.

Jim Jones for example, i'll admit, not even my 4th favorite dipset member, but when he does his thing and represents NYC i appreciate that....its all about hometown pride for me...

Ron Browz is on the radio and is giving us limelight and on top of that, bringing cats together...same goes with busta rhymes, so when ya crap on they records its like

"damn if you do damn if you don't" ya was waitin for NYC to get some buzz and get talked about, well they delivered on some joints thats banging in the clubs...and all i see is

its kinda like when the yankees were killin with those playoff runs and here comes someone talkin bout "oh F the yankees, i don't even watch baseball but i hate derek jeter, he dumped mariah...." just random hate from cats that are from NYC....

No offense but you're probably part of the problem. Close minded fans like you are the worst kinds of fans. You're just gonna jockanything just because it's from NY. Fans used to think like that 10-15 years ago but I had thought people had gotten past that phase.

Rap is based on battling and independence. You can't expect rappers not to beef just because they're both from the biggest city in the world. Maybeit's just that no NY rappers have been good or unique enough lately to transcend all that "___ is hotter than ____" BS. We've all seen the"lyricists" with no flow that NY hhas to offer lately.
And most of the best rappers in history are from nyc, you need to be happy with that. I only wish my home city produced a jay-z or nas or talib.

That is the truth, it isn't so much that NYC hip hop is dead/dying whatever you want to say. Hip hop fans in general are the ones dead/dying.For every hip hop fan on here saying Ron Browz is wack ( I am not saying I agree/disagree) all I am saying is Arab Money, Pop Champagne, Jumping out the Windowkill it here in any club that plays it. Should we blame Browz for this or should we blame every rapper calling tpain, neyo, chris brown and so on to get ontheir songs so they can sell a single or get air time?

Oh and am I alone in thinking Max B is )#*)$)% WACK. I swear I don't see why people rooting for this guy at all.

All these oldheads in here just hate the way hip-hop has changed........ all facets of music have changed......
you all want to hear the BDP KRS-one but that will never ever happen again..... stop being stubborn
there's new talent out there
these dudes just want copies of old rappers

Nobody is putting out real music. Just radio and mainstream garbage.

I liked some artists out of NYC, like Biggie, NAS, Juelz, just because it was something different and something you could feel or think to.

Max B - nobody outside of NYC is feeling him. same goes for Ron Brownz, why he is out as an artist I'll never know, since his singles are utter and completegarbage.

thats the thing; in order for nyc rap to be popular again, there needs to be music made that people outside of NYC can feel. it cant be so isolated.

Problem with NYC rap is THIS............listen well now ladies and gentlemen and let me know if Im wrong.

Rappers are Superman, in I mean that God forbid a NYC rapper has a krptonite. Everyone was rich before they became a rapper, everyone is packing guns, no onestruggled growing up no more, everyone is just fly which means it aint real. NO authenticity no more. I mean find a rapper for me from NYC who isnt a"thug", than his street cred comes into question. Im sorry but you couldnt pay me a million dollars to be a rapper because you're forced to loseyour identity as a person just for a buck. The last conscious song I remember from a NYC rapper is WHY by Jada and that like what 03/04? When someone humblesthemselves from NYC and just tell it how it is, is when NYC will come back on the map. Rap aint fun no more its like a big high school...................my badfor the rant yall but I came from a time where being a rapper from NY meant something and could nobody tell me nothing but now.................
