I cannot understand why they cant make him a great shoe. I could make him a great shoe. Have you seen the IV? he wont even wear it? he doesnt even like thatnew one they made I cant remember, he wore it for the first half of a game and then switched back to the Wade 1's. I dont understand why Converse, which isnow owned by Nike, would be putting out these terrible looking and performing shoes? Wade should have a shoe similiar to the Hyperdunks, something very light,but super supportive. And the the design, They dont know how to use the Wade symbol, or make use of his nickname "FLASH". Someone needs to give theirhead a shake. Wade will prolly end up walkin away from Converse in the near future when his contract is up.

-For one, I thought he wanted to regain the energy and play of 06(?) when he won the title...thats why hes been wearing his old shoes (superstitious i guess)
- Could be just waiting until allstar to break them out
- Wade is always included in the design process right, I think he knew what he was getting into...Wade isnt a dumb guy..im sure he got to wear test them soconverse could get the right fit
-I dont know ...if I had a company designing a shoe for me....i would have them make it exactly how I want it, if theres problems i would have them fixit....Maybe Wade is dumb...or just doesnt care. who knows..money talks.
 
^^^Dude is playing at an MVP level right now wearing his Wade1's so i guess your first point is pretty valid. I would probably agree with the rest of yourpoints as well.

I've heard nothing but good things about the new Wade's (performance wise).

We'll see when he decides to break em out.
 
Personally I think Converse did a real good job on the D-wade 4's it reminds me of a shoe that would have dropped back in the mid to late 90's.
 
^ Those are kinda dope and yea I get the same vibe you get from them. Im not sure how I feel about the shape the the midsole though. It looks funky.

I think most of the Converse Basketball Footwear team are from NIKE, so the talent is there.
The challenge is creating a statement level shoe for a signature athlete using limited technology and staying at a mid-level price point (under $100 retail).
I've been pretty disappointed with his series so far as well, the uppers are consistently bulky and too busy.

dwayne edwards, the wade line prime designer was recently transferred to back to nike so, we might see a different design language for the next wade sneaker,and i hope they'd include better tech. specially at $99.00, some, i mean most mid level nike's have some zoom and/or max air.

The Wade 1 was the only hot shoe in the line, everything else has looked like it was strait off the payless shoe source rack

Adding more staff would just complicate the whole signature line. Ideas would be going everywhere, without the content of Wade input of what ofhe wants he shoe to be. I'll like to see major Cheif Designers from Nike to handle wade signature line, Tinker, Eric may come to mind to me. The line isgetting whack and my patience of having my favorite player shoe may not come true. The line is whack and won't go far like Lebron or Carmelo.
 
That's definitely true, he's already got a championship ring AND he was the Finals MVP.

In the running for MVP again this year, it's so easy to overlook him because of the attention Lebron and Kobe get.

But D-Wade is just SICK on both ends of the court. And his line is somewhat forgettable, if it was even remembered in the first place. I think the same aboutLebron's line, I only liked the II and the IV. Kobe's line is pretty consistent and nice, especially in terms of performance.

I only liked the first Wade, which was really underrated as a performance shoe.

I thought they would do something crazy for the next one, like shoes with a Flash theme, with crazy lightning streaks incorporated into it. But I think it tooka step back with the 2 and the 3. We'll see what happens with the 4, but I'd say they're already on thin ice. They have to pull something out ofthe hat that a lot of people actually like aesthetically, not just for performance.

I agree that too many cooks in the kitchen is not a good idea. But putting a chief designer on his projects wont make a difference....remember , Tinker wasabout 50% responsible for the Wade 2 and everybody's favorite Wade shoe is the Wade 1......, ......The design of the Wade 1 was dope but it was solidifiedas hot, because Wade was playing out of his mind and won a championship in them..... Bottom line, everybody is just a hater...I thought the Wade 3 was goodminus that allstar colorway IMO....Wade was just injured so the buzz didnt spread.....Now hes back on some superstitious crap and for whatever reason wont laceup in the 4, maybe after allstar...who knows *shrugs*

I'm glad you agree with me. However his line won't be successful if they keep producing bad looking shoes. Its up to the chief designer to make to shoe appealing to the consumer and also shape a performance shoe to cater to the player. Wade 2's is a good looking shoe maybe even betterthan the wade 1's and if Tinker had some of his ideas of making wade 2's who knows the possibilities if Tinker was in charge of producing wade linefrom the start? Its not to late to change the direction of wade line. But if Duane Lawrence keeps producing Wade's line, Dwayne Wade would probably keepwearing the 1's through his whole career. The Wade line right now only needs to focus on resurrecting the shoe aesthetically cause like I said I'm notwasting my money to wear ugly shoes.
 
There is no way in hell you can convince me that those Wade 4s dont belong next to the Shaqs at Wal-mart. I mean, come on are you kidding me. They look socheap,tacky and bulky. Wade is the best player in the World, and his shoe line is a disgrace. He should be wearing something that is sleek,fast,lowprofile,light as hell. Something along the lines of the Kobes or hyperdunks. That type of innovation. There is so much that you can do with a Wade shoe, andhis nickname.

As for the Wade 1 being underrated, I disagree with that as far as performance, I love the look of the ones he wore in the Finals, but they where one of theworst performing shoes I have ever had. The traction was horrible, even on clean floors. They didnt lock my foot down, and they had a tendancy to roll. Alsothe heel was not wide enough therefore it cause we to slip and fall everytime i crossed hard, or planted hard. They where garbage in terms of performance, butthey looked awesome.

Nike should be ashamed that they own the company that made the 4s. They need to get rid of whoever is designing that crap. It looks like a cheaper version ofthat dennis rodman shoe they had back in 98. Wade needs a great shoe. I bet he wont bust those 4s out at allstar break. He has already said he isnt impressedwith the way his shoeline is going.
