I think with L.A. shoe spots it aint where to go, its when to go. Its all timing. If youre lucky, you get to a store and find a gem before some greedy cats a.k.a. "reseller's" (you know who you are) buy up all the choice products. God forbid you visit your local WSS five minutes too late and have the employees tell you that someone just bought up most the size run of a hot shoe just need one pair of. That can explain some of the reasons why some are not giving up info...its too competative and the collectors are getting screwed.

the workmens in the montebello town center has good stuff sometimes but you gotta be willing to pay. last i saw, they had the rose af1, la af1, sheed af1, 20th af1, both 6 lows, and a bunch of others i cant remember. they also release shoes before the release date so if you want a pair early, check it out. ask to see their shoe album also. montebello also has a wss about a mile or so away from the mall. i was there last week and they stlll had a few pairs of lightnings left (small sizes i believe)

the palmdale mall (antelope valley) has a few shoe stores that have nice stuff. they're your usual foot locker, champs, athletic xpress, copeland's, and some independent shoe store but they all get nice things. the copelands ALWAYS has j's and af1's. they even have the lightnings in a good size run (last i checked). but since it's urban and ghetto living out there, they get some good releases. i got the sheeds at their FL. you can check there. i have no numbers but run a search on yahoo yellow pages. for those that do want to know, palmdale is about 50 miles north of l.a.

Are there any more spots in LA? It seems like a good start, but no where near finished. LA NT heads need to give up some more info.

A few people like Augman mentioned Sportie LA on Melrose. Definitely check those out. There's 2 on that street that are a few blocks apart. Both numbers were posted already in that long list of #'s. There's also a hip-hop store in between those shops nearby Urban Outfitters. When I was down there back in June, they had the graphite/lightning SB's and Forbes. Those were hittin' for $200. One of the Sportie LA's (the more cramped one) was selling their Dunks for $135-$150. They had a great selection style-wise, though. Size-wise is a different matter. They also had a bunch of "vintage" and older kicks albeit one size only.

aight...heres the deal...im flyin into LA this saturday, and we're stayin there for a couple days. Then we're drivin up PCH to San Fran, for a cousin's wedding. So what im askin u guys is....

which spots in LA and San Fran are ones that i definitely shouldnt miss? Ones that frequently got good kicks (Dunks, Lightnings, Js)? Ones that good prices on the previously mentioned kicks (retail, hopefully)? Also...any good mom n pop stores would be great. I just see this long, long list of stores in this post, and i appreciate it, but i want to cut it down to just the best ones.

Now...for the places we're gonna be stayin...

We're flyin into John Wayne, and i think stayin in HB (Huntington Beach) overnight. Then we're stayin in San Simeon a couple days later. After that we drive farther north into San Francisco, we're stayin in the Sheraton on Mason Street. Next, we goin north to Willits (near Fort Bragg), and stayin in Bodega Bay. After that, we go back south to Frisco for my cousin's wedding, and stayin in the Hyatt on Stockton St.

So there u go...all the places where we are gonna stay. Hopefully some kind people can come up with a good list of "must see" shoe stores. I hope im able to find some limited Dunks, Lightnings, West Indies, Js, whatever...we dont have much in St Louis, and im definitely lookin forward to goin back to Cali. I used to live in HB back in the day.

Thanks again to all the people that (hopefully) give me some info...street names, street numbers, cities, outlets, etc. Peace.

^well, I hate to burst your bubble about Cali, but there are so many Nikeheads out here that the shoes that you listed are nonexistent, unless you get extremely lucky... go to Jacks and HSS on Main street when you are in huntington for a chance at some dunk sb's but no guarantee... grey-one in Pasadena (maybe neo39 too) and Sportie LA often carry some tight kicks, but you pay through the nose. Union/Stussy in LA gets some nice stuff too, but again you have to have impeccable timing to score anything... Keep in mind that a few of the skate shops that carried chocolate dunks sold them for $200-500 because they knew that people would pay - and they did - which just goes to show how crazy it is out here to try to get limited kicks... I wish there were some magical spots out here that always carries good stuff for retail, but alas, I live out here and I have to do much of my hunting on ebay because there is nothing out there... good luck brother

thanks for the reply at least, lakersclippers, thats always appreciated. I'll try my best to score somethin good. It sounds like ill have better luck away from LA, maybe between LA and SF theres some not so crowded spots....i guess i just gotta hope. But for the most part i just wanna enjoy my vacation. Maybe i'll see some NTers on the streets. Once again...thanks for at least tellin me the truth lakers, id rather get the truth, than be hunting and never havin any luck. Peace.

Any other replies are more than welcome

vinsanity, you should check out the WSS (Wharehouse Shoe Sale) in Huntington Beach. I stopped by the one in Montebello today and they had Jordans and AF1's for a good price. But lakersclippers is right, most of the spots here in LA have already been ransacked and the shops who do have rare and limited kicks are asking a grip for them. Have a good trip and hopefully you can come up on some cool kicks.
