For me it depends on whether or not they said the word "BOMB". If they did I think you can throw the racist argument out of the equation becauseanyone would of been investigated at that point. However if they were just talking about where the safest place would be to sit on the plane period this wouldnot of been justified.

Meh.... honestly, I feel they did the "smart" thing by taking them off the plane. Sure, it's ruffling feathers but after the events of Sept 11,you can't blame ppl for being paranoid. I mean, me being Black and all, sure I get pissed when the corner store won't let me and 3 other blacks in thestore. I feel it's racist and disrespectful, but that business owner sees a necessity to protect his stuff. I can't hate him for that. He has hisreasons for being a bigot, so it just is what it is. I just chalk it up to it being a really %#***# up world we live in. You're either stepping on toes orgetting yours stepped on unfortunately. We all have our defense mechanisms and one that is prevalent among ALL of us is that we all want to be identified withppl "like us", whether that be jocks chilling with jocks, blacks hanging with blacks, or however you choose to define yourself. So when the"We" of the world wants to do something to feel safe, "We" will always exclude the "They" from the reindeer games. That'sjust the way this world is and that's what just happened.

Seriously it was the right thing to do. If they really did say "bomb", then they definitely should have been taken off the plane. And a lot of youare saying if someone of another race said "bomb" they wouldn't be taken off the plane. I doubt that's true. I'm sure they would take any"threat" seriously. If you are so sure, next time you get on a plane, say the exact same comment the people in the article did and let us know ifnothing happened.

Also, a lot of the random searches they do cover all types of races and religions. I'm not saying that this proves that the airlines don't discriminatebut it'd definitely something to consider. Unless you think they do that to not appear racist.

Not trying to be racist but after 911 you can't really blame them taking precautions.
 
The whole profiling or racist comment works both ways. Would this even be news if the family didn't look like they did? If there was no room to complainabout profiling?

My question: Do things like this happen all the time, to people of all appearances? If the answer is yes, then the fact that this is even a story should saysomething.

Um....If you think the prejudice started because black people started gangs or what not your trying to say you are an idiot. We were hated by white people assoon as THEY brought us on this damn country. When we were emancipated they did all they could do to stop us from even having any freedom. All the things thatare happening to the black community started because the way in the past how black people were treated.

you need to interact more with people who are different than you
and I will say that I went to high school and played on the same soccer team as a Firefighter that died on 9/11, so I know 9/11 first hand

My only problems is why didn't these same people start snatching up/assaulting people that look like McVeigh? People are super biased andwill use any garbage to further their biased views. Its ashame the world is like that but I don't think it will ever change.
