Nine Muslim Passengers Removed From Airplane...**UPDATE PG. 6** Apology from AirTran

sue, racial discrimination. take someone or something to court and make it a huge deal to media and to everyone.

My only problems is why didn't these same people start snatching up/assaulting people that look like McVeigh? People are super biased and will use any garbage to further their biased views. Its ashame the world is like that but I don't think it will ever change.

Because not every white guy is out there talking about bombs. And I can guarantee you if they were, they would be arrested. Your analogy doesn't work, since these people were talking about bombs on a damn airplane.

homegrown anglo-appearing terrorists are freaks of nature with personal mental issues, and few and far between. militant islam isnt even close tobeing a similar situation considering they have a significant population of trainees hell bent on destroying american society. oh, they also enjoy the badpublicity because they actively promote their intentions. apples and oranges.

Nothing on here surprises me anymore, i've come to expect ignorant replies now. Being someone who used to travel quite often and to kill time would observepeople, families etc. on planes and in the airport, "the safest place on the plane" is pretty common conversation.

not if its in the same breath as "if a bomb were to go off." hardly. i travel often, and i have never yet seen that kind of lack ofcommons sense.

They got what they deserved. cmon people get with present day news. whether your arab, muslim, white, black or asian, if the word "bomb" is thrownaround, people are gonna assume the worst. With the war on terror and crazy mofo's using planes as bombs, anything can happen. We live in a crazy andviolent world. The people who were removed were stupid to mention those sensitive words on a plane especially. They got what they deserved period.

I feel as though it does maybe I'm explaining it wrong. What I should have said is when 911 happened you saw people messing with"muslims" but where was that when somebody that looks like you does the same thing. I know somebody can understand that. Maybe I'm justreaching to yall but thats how it always seems to look and its always an excuse why its different. As far as this family goes though I just think they shouldhave been let back on if everything checked out and they need to be more aware of whats going on. You know (or you should know) people are shook anywaybecause of your looks and you can't do anything to play on that fear.

From the CNN article i read, it said there was no mention of bombs, just the safest place in general. Does it not strike you as ridiculous toeven discuss where the safest part on a plane is if there's a friggin BOMB on it?

And i actually only see that ONE Fox link that mentions bomb, but that's the one ya'll choose to run with.

this happens more frequently than people think. a lot of you guys don't know this but when most muslim men travel, their tickets have anywhere from 3-5S's on them which classify different degrees of caution that the flight attendants/ air port security should have.

the article from dc states otherwise, so everything is speculation until what actually happened is confirmed. so yes, it is ridiculous to discussbomb safety on a commercial jet, and anyone stupid enough to do so deserves everything thats coming their way.

Proof.

It just so happened these people were of Muslim faith and appearance. It escalated, it got out of hand and everyone took precautions."

just so happened, my !!$. you know if a white person said ANYTHING of that sort it would not even be addressed. you know people were just looking at thembecause of the way they looked...

what the hell muslim people take planes too what do theyexpect them to travel on camels?

"At the end of the day, people got on and made comments they shouldn't have made on the airplane, and other people heard them," Hutcheson said. "Other people heard them, misconstrued them.

this reminds me of meet the parents bomb scene

my thing is... if a plane goes down... there isn't really a "safe" place to be. so i don't really understand why this family was having theconversation in the first place.

This is based off what people hear about plane travel from word of mouth about the the planes structural integrity and what parts you're morelikely to survive in. People discuss this all the time whether its true or not, don't single them out for that. People have different ways of coping withair travel, muslims have fear of flight too.

you got a problem with it, take it up with the jihadis. all people are inherently prejudiced, so i dont know why everyone is expecting anythingdifferent, especially when that chit is brought west. after the next attack, this kind of treatment will seem mild in comparison.

when i was a kid and was learning about the Japanese internment camps during WW2 i was shocked at how Americans would allow this to happen but now as i'molder i can see how it all started. smh at anyone who thinks racial profiling of any kind should be acceptable

This is exactly what I was thinking. If a bomb goes off anywhere on the plane, isn't the whole plane gonna go down and everyone die regardless of whereyou're sitting?

How is it racist? You have some idiots of Middle Eastern descent talking about bombs on an airplane in an era of heightened security and paranoia. They gotexactly what they deserved for being irresponsible passengers.

I didn't see anything wrong with it.

If they had been terrorists, and made those comments, then blew up the plane... and it was found out that security was notified about what they said andDIDN'T do anything... EVERYONE shouting racism in this thread would be like "Wow the airline security is a joke, why didn't they do anything!? Itwas so obvious!!!"

^^ That is very true. And to all the people saying "this wouldn't happen if they were white, asian, etc", please if you are one of those races, the next time you get on a plane say something about a bomb and let us know what happens.

it doesnt matter how educated they are if theyre displaying this kind of lack of common sense. its early to be getting this upset, just wait to see how bad its going to get after the next attack. a stupid comment like that made by someone who looks "ethnic" after another attack will likely lead to an assault, depending on whose company they are in. the militants are going to ruin life for the innocents, not that they care.
Well the fact is I was right, they didn't display a lack of common sense.

They didn't say those things. They never said bomb, and they never said anything about the Oklahoma City bombing.

All this was what paranoid people heard on the plane/in the airport.

The airline booked their flight, gave an apology, and offered them a free trip home.
