superheroes that deserve their own movie

Most of the characters already listed aren't universally popular - or even known about - so there is next t no chance that a decent movie could be made. You have to have a good potential audience for it to get the go ahead. There aren't enough comic book nerds around to justify some of the obscurecharacters.

Flash and Captain America are probably two of the biggest ones not yet done - last year I would have said Wonder Woman too but that's on the way now.

I don't think Thundercats could be done either - there's only a fairly select audience that watched it for a few years so again wouldn't attract abig enough audience.

Guggenheim Talks Green Lantern Script
Source:ComicCon.com
September 12, 2008

Almost a year ago it was announced that Greg Berlanti was set to direct the live-action take on DC Comics' Green Lantern, which he would write with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.

Now, Guggenheim has given ComicCon.com an update:

"I've been working my $!@ off on Green Lantern," he said, then laughed. "I'm ready for a weekend off. I really can't say too much about it. I've sworn a blood oath of secrecy. I will tell you it features Hal Jordan and is an incredibly faithful rendition of the character. It honors everything everyone loves about the hero. We approach it from a fan's perspective. Every step of the way, we ask ourselves what we want to see and what the fans will want to see. I think we have a script that will actually satisfy on those levels. Right now I'm just doing a rewrite for the studio with Greg [Berlanti] and Michael [Green]. We'll turn that in next week. We just keep moving forward. It's really good stuff!"

Alan Horn Clears Up Dark Knight Sequel Rumors

Source:Collider.com

December 18, 2008

With all the rumors swirling around the internet about possible casting for Warner Bros.' sequel to the record-breaking box office blockbuster The Dark Knight--absolutely none of them true as yet--Collider had a chance to talk briefly with Alan Horn, the President of Warner Bros., and probably the one man who would know more than anyone else about anything going on with this highly-anticipated project.

He got straight to the point when asked about progress on the sequel: "We've been talking to Chris Nolan and what we have to do is get him in the right place and have him tell us what he thinks the notion might be for a great story, but Chris did a great job and we'd love to have him come back and do another one."

As far as the timing of the project, he went onto say: "The story is everything and we are very respectful of Chris. We have a wonderful relationship with him and we are going to be respectful of his timing and we want to get it right. Also, I think the fans expect that - they want us to make a terrific movie - we have to give them another great movie."

In the interview, Horn also expressed interest in bringing back Superman and confirmed that they're very close to rolling on a movie starring DC's other power player, Green Lantern. (In fact, earlier this week Dark Horizons reported that Australia was vying for the latter project, but nothing has been confirmed as far as a start date.)

You can read the original interview here.

EDIT: Hella Handsome

He's getting his own flick too. Expect Fox to mess it up tho...
