Best Amplifier For One 12" Alpine Type R? (Car Audio Heads Please Enter)

What's up NT audio heads i've got a quick question for you guys.

I have an single 12" Type R in a sealed box inside of my Lexus SC400 it's currently using an Kicker ZX300.1 amp. I was recently told that this sub isbeing severely underpowered so therefore I'm looking to upgrade the amp in order to get better power out of the sub.

What's the best amp that I can purchase that will deliver the most power out of this sub?

alpine mrp-m650. its last seasons model so you should be getting it for a good price. i have one powering my one 10 inch type r and its not even up all the wayand i melted the connectors near the sub.

are u bridging ur sub?
if not u ccan do that and get more power from it

why don u u just buy another one.??

^^To answer your question I'm not sure if the amp is bridged because I did not install the system. The reason I do not want to purchase another sub isbecause I use alot of my trunk space for my basketball shoes and equipment for school.

iam currently running two 12" JL W3's, with 1 JL 500/1 AMp. and thing KNOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just noticed it was in a sc300

if i were you i'd ditch the type r, it's a spl sub and it does NOT belong in a sealed box, that poor sub is probably in a 1 cube box

If you wanna stay alpine get a 10 inch type x..they're low end monsters

I was also thinking of upgrading to a ported box because I was also told that it improves power output as well. I'm not trying to ditch the type r just yetbecause I feel that I haven't max out it's full power yet I just need a few tweaks.

i got 1 12" type R in a custom ported box that i built wired to an Orion 1200d amp. im thinking about adding another type r this weekend? I bought the ampabout 3 years ago online for like $300 and its still holding up good. Another good amp for the money are Hifonics amps. you can get those on ebay as well for agreat price. heres a video i took

the type r needs 800+ to really get moving

and i highly doubt a properly made ported box would fit in that small trunk

that's peak power b..you go by the rms

the type x is a low end monster so you either have that sub in a %@#%%% prefab box, it's being underpowered, or both

caps are useless too.

2 MRD-501 AMPS 550 RMS WITH DIGITAL AMP CONTROLLER

2 15" TYPE R'S DUAL SLOTTED BOX

25 FARAD ROCKFORD CAP...

IT WAS ******ED....

BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION......A GOOD AMP THATS RUNNING 500 RMS WILL DO YOU JUST FINE...
AND THAT 650 ^ HE SAID IS A GOOD ONE TO RUN WITH

NAW IT ISNT......FILLED THE TRUNK IN A 94 DEVILLE...AND TAKES 2 PEOPLE TO CARRY/MOVE IT....AND I KEPT TEARING UP THE OG TYPE R'S THAT I HAD...AND UPGRADEDTO THE NEW MODEL...AND IT STILL BROKE MY REARVIEW OFF AND TRUNK LATCH...

That's like 4 cubes..ditch the cap and get a more powerful amp for them

It's running a 4 ohms

I bought an Hifonics BXi1608D which is rated at 550 RMS with 1600 peak and I also bought a vented 12" box.

Is that a good set up? Here's the vented box dimensions 12" - 19.0"W x 13.5"H x 15.0"D 1.65 cu ft Air Space Tuning - 40 Hz
