I've been reading this book over my winter vacation and it is amazing.
I have about 55 pages left and I can't put it down.
For those of you who haven't read it I strongly recommend reading it,
and for those of you who have read it, what are your thoughts???

i read it a few years ago. it was pretty entertaining although im not sure how much practical information it contained. the drug dealer point he makes i'vealways thought was fairly obvious. good read imo.

I read half of during the summer of last year and really liked it, only reason I didn't finish it was because I'm not much of a reader. From what Iremember I really liked the bit where they talk about the drug dealing and teachers who would pass kids to get a bigger salary. After seeing this post I'mgonna finish reading it because I'm takin macroeconomics this semester.

My critical thinking teacher made us read it and I never enjoyed a book so much and yet this book made me think a lot.

Entertaining... yeah, that's really the only way to describe this book. It's helpful for getting you to look at things in a different way than youhave before. Beyond that? Sometime in the future it may not even be relevant. I think that the experience of reading it is much more beneficial than theinformation printed on the pages.

You'll probably look at people differently when you find out the spelling of their first name.
Hopefully you'll take more of a personal interest in rearing your children.

Sounds like we all already understood exactly how the drug trade works. (Although I believe that a majority of the people that read this book have never heardof NT.) Extrapolate what you will from that.

That book made me want to learn as much economics as possible. When you realize that economics is in everything, you realize that economics has extraordinaryexplanatory powers over everything that people do. It also shows what economics, or at least good economics is about, very sharp thinking.

really entertaining read..if you liked freak. you should check out Outliers and The Tipping Point , by Malcolm Gladwell, kind of the same style

Reading Gladwell made me want to read Freakonomics. I read The Tipping Point first, and loved it. Freakonomics was mind-blowing as well. Irecommend both books whole-heartedly.

I've read this and also the book "gang leader for a day" that the drug dealer chapter was based on. This was better. I liked the Roe vs. Wadestuff.
