what makes it a "massacre"?

you haven't told us that yet.

all of the major titles released on Xbox, are also on PS3 with the exception of exclusives. not to mention the PS3 is also a Blu-ray player, and one of the best ones on the market.
they recently upgraded it to support TrueHD and DTS Master Audio.

you seem like you want some kind of legitimization for getting an Xbox. look, if you want an Xbox to "play your friends", then get an Xbox.

there's no point in starting yet ANOTHER post on this tired subject.

here you go fanboy, stop being a fanboy and be real with yourself

Considering the way that the Wii flew off shelves last month, this next item probably won't come as a shock to anyone. According to the Wall Street Journal, both Nintendo's console and the Xbox 360 trounced the PS3 in holiday sales, with U.S. sales falling nine percent from this month last year. During this same period, sales doubled for the Wii and rose eight percent for the Xbox 360. Perhaps none of this should be a surprise, as Sony declined to cut prices on their system, while a lack of exclusive game titles and a number of inexpensive Blu-ray players went a long way towards making the PS3 the least attractive option in an already difficult retail climate. If anything, it looks like Sony won't be able to rely on the console to help prop up a flagging electronics division that just announced it will be cutting thousands of jobs in a bid to boost profitability going into 2009. Happy New Year, indeed.

i thought Mircosoft just replaces them?

and not to be a downer but my first PS3 broke 32 days later and it took Sony freakin 7 weeks to get me my replacement...Best Buy wouldnt replace so Ive neveror ever will buy another thing from them

seeing how ps2 is still on top...once sony phases it out..PS3 will jump.

PS3>360 because...

a. better processor
b. blue ray ( the best player out with internet capabilites...these blu ray players you guys claim will be the demise of PS3 are cheap and have no internetcapabilities)
c. more storage for your buck
d. hands down theee best controller.

But go buy your ring of death system.

some of y'all sound like those old crabby Americans who still sayFord is better than Toyota

I had a ps3 and sold It. I will be coppin a new one in march....but I will say this...and I'm a HUGE sony supporter. But if the ps3 didn't have ablu-ray player...my god...I can't IMAGINE how the sales figures would look
roll.gif
roll.gif
. But I believe sony still has the power to pull off acomeback....if sony CAN'T win the 2009 console war vs the wii or the xbox....I don't think it'll ever catch up. And as weird as it sounds..as muchas sony's touted the ps3's blu-ray capabilites...I don't think a blu-ray less ps3 would help much now.

No dude, but Microsoft is and that is what he is referring to.

I've had all 3 next-gen consoles at one point in time.

360 is nice. The Wii is trash. PS3 is my favorite of the three, hence why I still have it and the others have moved on to new owners.

It's all preferences people.

And why do people care so much? Will the PS3 ever catch up? Do you work for Sony? Because if not, what the hell does it matter? Enjoy your 360, sit down andshut up. The fanboyism when it comes to these systems is ridiculous. Grown men debating the next dude's preference just isn't a good look.

But go buy your ring of death system.

I actually think the ps3 controller is uncomfortable but thats me, I cant even play for more than 1hour without my hands hurting
ohwell.gif

and I also cant stand how both joysticks are at the bottom, it ruins shooters for me

360 controller is perfect

Them figures have got to be down to the price of the 360 compared to the PS3.

From a consumer point of view the only thing 360 got on PS3 is live. imo.

Before 2008 360 also had waaaaaay better games and the graphics were usually better on the multi platform titles....2008 ps3 killed it with the games, i dontknow if they were shifting very well but the line up was filthy. All them releases puts them on par with 360. Graphically they picked up, so again its at leaston par with 360 on that front.

Only thing i can think of is the price difference....standard 360 is half the price of a PS3. Considering there aint that many exclusive titles anymore, peopleprobably just running with the cheaper option.

I think the Playstation 3 is going to steadily rise. It's a good system with Blu-Ray and internet. Xbox is $200 cheaper then the Playstation 3.

Sony just needs exclusives. All the exclusives of the PS2, they're becoming multi-platform. Final Fantasy
smh.gif
Resident Evil
smh.gif
Devil May Cry
smh.gif
EDIT: AndHOW COULD I FORGET GRAND THEFT AUTO
smh.gif

That Final Fantasy & RE +%%$ is gonna hurt - It's good for the developers $$$
laugh.gif
, but that would of been a force for the PS3. You know the Xbox boys thirsty forthat +%%$. Final Fantasy & RE gonna do numbers
smh.gif

If Sony is concerned about the console race, they gotta drop the price more; or secure them exclusives. Other than Blu-Ray, the 360 does the same +%%$.That's how most people see it. There's no reason to cop the 3 when 360 is getting those same games too. 'I'll Save that 100 to 200 dollars andget some accessories and games'. If putting up that extra 100-200$ is nothing to u, then it's easily a no brainer to get the 3. Online service is free;u cant really complain about something that's free. Wifi built in
pimp.gif
."All ya friends on 360"
indifferent.gif
...get new friends
roll.gif

PS3 is like education, u might not get the payoff immediately, but it's coming. Once Killzone 2, GT5 and God Of War III rolls around, it's going down.I wanna see the console flame wars when Kratos in this @#$%*

Thanks.
I am just giving you a hard time RKO2004. Contrary to what you believe, you're cool in my book.

People complaining about the 3 Red Ring problem with Microsoft forget Sony's massive "disc read error" problem with PS2.

That's why the PS2 sold so much it's because once they broke most just bought a new system altogether than getting it replaced or repaired.

So Microsoft just took that idea an ran with it.

I knew Sony was in trouble once people were still buying/favoring with the Xbox360 even though they knew about that widespread problem.

Me, I'm not a fanboy and really don't care about this crap or that crap I just hope for good games and that's it I could care less who is in thelead.

I prefer the 360's controller for shooting games, but I prefer the PS3 controller for fighting games like Street Fighter.

I just recently got a 360 for Christmas and although it is nice the PS3 is the way better bang for the buck.

By the time I finished buying everything that I needed for the 360 the bill was way over the $400 price of a 80GB PS3... way over.

Because the first two GOW games sold bunches... These are units sold in millions as of Dec 07. I'm sure it might be a little more, but you get the idea.Just like KZ2... Not going to catch on with mainstream. I'm not saying they are bad games, but how many years of catchup do you need? PS4 will be outbefore you know it.

so what you're saying is, people would rather re-buy a 360 and deal with the rings again, than buy a ps3? what does that tell you about the360?
