OK this post is intended for being an all around automobile thread.

I'll start it off. I was thinking about getting a Charger next April or May. Lets say the sticker price is $22,000 or $23,000. How much do you all think Ican possibly talk a dealership down to? I plan on having a down payment of course. How much is a good down payment? Since I'm pretty new to all this, whatsa good APR to shoot for?

Post your stories, cars and anything else you want.

one was a 99' 328 with 133k miles the other was a 01' 325 with 103k miles.......... looking at these two just because I can probably get them cheaperthan listed since my dad knows some of the people that work at those 2 and i would be paying $, not financing.

Holy miles batman. I have a friend with a 01 325 and his dad (who he got it from) didnt take as well of a job taking car of it and it needed major work to evenrun properly. If this is your first car dont get it honestly. Body style is out and who knows how long you can ride with it.

Hmmm I would go with the 01'. Less miles plus it has age on its side.

Yea I myself am double guessing this decision, any type of repair doesn't bother me because my dad is a mechanic and all I have to do is buy the parts ifany are needed. Only reason im interested in these 2 is because i can get em cheaper than listed. Its hard to find a decent BMW with low mileage

Well if your second guessing then maybe its best to keep looking. Whats your favorite car? It took me a long time to find a car I was actually feeling. I likealot of cars but I love the Charger

My fav is a BMW, my dad has had a couple and ive been blown away by their looks and quality (still has a 92' that has yet to require any type of extendedmaintenance besides the basics). I was also looking at the charger, but all the quality issues ive read about make it less appealing. Besides that ive alwaysliked silverados and toyotas, basically quality > looks.

As for Toyota I really like the Camrys too. The grill really sets it off plus I hear good things about the car as a whole. The 01' BMW lookspretty good and if it runs well go for it.

Is that R/T posted above the one going for 23K? If so where do live cuz even used they aren't that low here in the bay area.

But like I said before imma shoot for the Pontiac G8 GXP after the home purchase goes through later this month. I know I'm at least getting a G8 GT tho.

Actually its $21,866 and I live in Cincy. There are about 3-5 more R/Ts in this area ranging from 18-21K. Maybe more. I'm just sitting back and keeping aneye on things. What hurts is areas a little further out have R/Ts with free carfax reportd for cheap.

The G8 is HOT too. If I had to choose another car in my price range its right behind the Charger along with the Tahoe.

Post your stories, cars and anything else you want.

10% down is usually the minimum..it really all depends on how strong your credit is.

I have an 06 Impala now im trying to save as much as possible b/t now and May..trade it in and have an '08 SS paid off by the end of the year.

Ive heard a lot of horror stories of ppl puttin 22's + on the chargers w/ the transmission goin out.

by april or may chrysler will be bankrupt so you could likely haggle it to 15K or less lmao

Hmmm sounds simple. I'll be trying to work on my credit soon. Have any of you or anyone you know been able to talk a dealership down a couple K?

I hope not. Having a car from a dead company FTL.

And I've decided to go with a hemi-less charger if its Hot. Plus it would be my first car so I don't need a bunch of power.

This thread is all over the place. You're not going to be able to bargain on a new model car much, because if you don't buy it...someone else will. Youwill need to put at least 10% down with this economy situation, it'll be already hard enough to get a loan. And somehow if you get away with only puttingup several g's down, you're probably going to end up paying 200% of the car's value.

Chances are you will be able to get a better loan from your bank than at the dealership. If so, I would go with this route...and when you walk into thedealership, you have much room to bargain as you're going to pay off the whole thing before leaving the dealership.
