only in America where people are suckers for a sad story and end up getting con into giving these people gas money

it all depend, but knowing how people work,i doubt ya money gonna make a difference unless they running a con

Our society is one that is needs-based. People survive because their needs are met on a daily basis. Parents give us food, teachers educate us, someone givesus shelter, etc. etc.-- Homelessness is a result of needs not being met.... consider this:

Our country asked for young men to fight a war in Vietnam to provide the US with security and safety (meeting needs)-- when they came home, we couldn'teven meet their basic needs... and many of them ended up being homeless.

So yea, i'm going to feel bad for homeless people regardless of how "annoying" they can be, how they got that way, and what type of things theymight say to me because their basic needs aren't being met.

You can't judge all of them based on a few rotten apples. Some of them really do have problems or hit a major bump in the road.

Everytime I walk around Downtown Crossing in Boston it just kinda stays in the back of my head

its really unfortunate espcially w/ the weather around here.

i only really feel bad when there are children involved
but there is this lady that lives around my way who uses her children as a means to get more money...i know she's lving in a house bigger then minesthough. so i dont give anyone any money anymore.
there's also this guy in england who panhandles and lives in a million dollar home.

oh and i went to miami and saw homeless people that felt we owed them for some reason. umm NO.

applying for jobs?! f outta here!!! I have two friends who graduated from drexel and columbia and they can't even get jobs!!

but for real--very few places of work are homeless friendly--there's this organization in DC called street sense that gives homeless men and women jobs as vendors of a newspaper written by and for homeless individuals (www.streetsense.org) Mad respect for this organization.

i'll be sure to pass this information along to all my homeless friends.
