this isnt like the 360 where people just put more epoxy/glue on the processor and graphics card to fix the rrod, i doubt anyone on the streetsknows how to fix a ps3 cd/dvd/blu drive or its laser

if you search around online there are numerous places that will fix the item for 50 bucks or so. but the thing it you shipping it to them and getting itshipped back is almost as much as paying sony.
i sent my 60gb in after 2 years and they replaced it for me for the 150 i sent them. its worth it because it covers 2day shipping both ways and i recieved itback within a week. if not just go buy one from walmart and swap it out like everyone says.

when it comes to walmart, they have the crappiest customer service.

i'll just wait till i get paid and send it to sony.
they will still replace it if my brother already opened it right?
he tried to see if he could fix it.
i mean he took the void sticker off carefully and placed it back and it looks the same.
but i am sure they will be able to tell that it was opened.

I did that, i took out the blu ray drive and put it in mine..just just a heat gun to pull the warranty sticker out. watch the youtube video to learn how to doit. they even had a dude inspect it and he didnt suspect %%$%
