My best friend and his wife moved down to ATL this weekend and I had a chance to visit and definitely enjoyed what I saw. Now, that I've come back to theChi I've been seriously considering making the move for myself and my fam as well. My best friend sister lives down there as well and she's beensending job postings all day long that have been pretty decent to provide for a family and live comfortably. The price of living is pretty cheap as welllconsidering 3 bedroom/3 baths going for $850 a month. I start school here in the Chi on January 26th for TV/Radio and the same school resides in the A aswell, just instead of their program being 10 months like here, it's only 4 months there. I love the warm climate year around, as oppose to this crappyweather here in the Chi. One of my concerns is that I've worked hard and achieved some success as a DJ here in the Chi and wonder if I could/would havethe same success in the A. I'm looking for some insight from those who have either made the move themselves or those who reside in the A can tell me whatI have to look forward to. Thanks in advance.

look forward to seeing bammas, gays, SOME dimes (not all of em are), good weather.

But as a DJ in the A, idk

. You'll have fame as a DJ overall, since u are good in the Chi, its all bout the music you play down here. I would make the move tho, you can live comfortably and save some $$. Good Luck if u domake the move.

ATL is a great place...however, i've noticed A LOT of people from the chi are biased and they end up moving right back after leaving for a while.

Thanks. I appreciate the info. The weather and saving some $ are definitely a plus factor because the price of living here in the Chi is veryoverrated and overpriced. Hopefully I will be able to use some of my connects to get on as DJ as well. I'm definitely leaning towards making the move.

The only difference I noticed down there that's different from the Chi is the restaurant choices, but that doesn't bother me. I love the Waffle House.

no lie............i been here. very good. i went when i came here in June of 08.

like i said.................TOO MUCH GOOD FOOD DOWN HERE. even fast food joints we dont have up in my state like sonic, steak and shake, etc.

Atl is homosexual capital USA, I never came out of the airport when I was there and the concentration of gay dudes in the airport was like the same ratio as arandom block in The Village, NYC.

Scary

but, I heard the chicks got some banana booties down there

I love the Waffle House.

Me too. Hit the WH at 5 after leaving Central Station.

I spent a weekend down there in Aug and was hooked. I've never been depressed at the idea of going back to the crib.

During that trip, I knew I'd be moving to ATL eventually. I have a decent amount of fam and friends down there, so the transition wouldn't be too bad. I guess its just a matter of time.

I've been in ATL most of my life and it's a wonderful place to live, if you didn't grow up here. Like someone else said, you will be able to savemore $$ and the cost of living is cheaper compared to Chicago. The only thing I differ on is the food, to me Chicago has better food, but then again I'vebeen here most of my life. But def make the move.

Great food, and last time I went, Gladys Knight was there and I took pictures with her. Traffic in Atl will be almost as bad as it is in Chicagoif you drive a lot, but overall Atl is not a bad city.

We got Waffle House and Sonics in Houston, TX...but I've thought about ATL too, but I have responsibilities I need to handle here in Houston.

Central Station FTW!!!!!!
Man i havent been to Central in a minute

i been here about 2 years now and i love it, came from Detroit... dont miss the bad weather at all.
It is hella gays here, but at the end of the day... so what. they dont bother me.

cost of living is def cheapier, you can stay in a real nice area for a very decent price, and it wont be like the projects.
my advice is dont come down here and get in no trouble...i got arrested my 3rd month down here, and im still on probation.

and Waffle House.... ONLY after you drunk as hell coming from the club other wise, its disgusting.

stay yo @*% in Chi town... already too crowded as it is...jp but really doe, atl is my hometown and ive been here my whole life. Like everybody else said, goodweather, good food, bad traffic, and on dat DJ tip, i think you'll be straight. It aint too hard to make it as a DJ out here, just gotta learn what welike.

oh yea, almost forgot, hella gays. And the number is increasing every time i turn my head.

My buddy took me there just so I could see how it looked on the outside because it was mad late and they were closed. I was expecting anextravagant cathedral like joint and was shocked at by what I saw. I talk to my dude who bounces back and forth from here to ATL and he was like that jointstay poppin though. I heard Strokers is that deal as well. I do know that I heard the Velvet Room being announced on Hot 107.9 all weekend long.
