Official TMNT thread, return of the classic giant figures

Sometimes story can't even save what we already can see from the looks of things. Like I don't know why but I always get sucked in by end of the world type movies like Armageddon, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow and every time I watch them, they are all the same. This is an action packed adapt to a old cartoon. I am almost positive it is in the same lines as Transformers and GI Joe. Plus you can just put facts together.....Bay influenced, over the top CG, Megan Fox......I mean if you can't really tell what type of movie this is going to be, I think you just don't watch enough movies then.

Or you've never seen it and don't know........ Hmmm....

Damn their shells are huge.

If the trailer is any indication, looks like the did a good job capturing Michelangelo's personality.

I liked the trailer personally; I think our gonn be good

A lot of people here liked Transformers but it's all revisionist history on this board

Weird seeing the turtles in CGI but overall, it looks like it'll be entertaining to watch at least. One of those summer blockbusters you go watch when you want to get away from the summer heat for a few hours.

Needs more pizza though!

Alright.....I'll hold judgement till it releases. Can't blame people for making assumptions. It's not like the proposed something totally different from the normal blockbuster formula. I mean I can't expect Bay to produce something that won't make money. That is why studios love the guy. It's certified to make money...no need to change a movie to make the cult followers happy.

I just don't understand the point in making a movie based on something (comic book video game etc) and trying your hardest to be different from the source material.

Like why not just come up with something original? Oh wait that's right that'd require creativity and not just copy and pasting some ******** over a rough draft of transformers.

If you don't like the story don't make a movie about it "yea lets change the story make the characters look totally different we'll keep the name tho gotta cash in."
You're missing the whole point something that works in a book or video game won't work on film and why would you wanna make something the exact same as the source material it makes the film predictable and why go see something when you can have the same story in the source material besides a brand the has a built in fanbase has people coming in automatically

I mean I'm with you on the doubt but as of now we know nothing. I'm gonna guess as say this movie will get a 55% on RT but will still be worth a watch and get multiple sequels

Agree with a lot of this, always wondered why those fast and furious movies do so well. To me its all the same crap but the formula works, can't blame him/them.

^^^Same thing with Saw franchise. It made tons of money and it was like the same movie for each sequels with tons of ways to die and some cliff hanger ending. The best thing about those movies is they used no A-list celebs, so budget was always really low. On their Wiki page, Saw's total budget for all 7 films was about $65 million and the gross worldwide for all films was $873,319,880. That is literally insane.

Michael Bay wants it to be burgers. It'll bring more viewers. Plus they can advertise with McDonald's or Burger King, because you can expect this movie to be a 2 hour advertisement with all of the product placement in it like Transformers.

Not serious. :nerd:

Turtle shell buns!

Time to stock up on TMNT gear before the prices go up lol

Already mad @ myself for not copping the complete set of the retro toys when they were re-released. :smh:

Let's not forget this: a lot of times trailers are cut with dialogue that's not in the film or its used completely outta context.. An official synopsis with the turtle origin hasn't been released and confirmed. I've seen plenty of trailers where 2 scenes and/or dialogue has been cut together to convey an idea, but in actuality those scenes are nowhere near each other in the film.

For all we know the "origin" of turtles may have no Shredder involvement.

I'll wait on a new trailer but I'm definitely in to see this.

The trailer was pretty good but Mikey sold it at the end. Not sure I'm sold on the new look foot but I'll reserve judgement. I hope April isn't the focus like the transformer movies. Who am I kidding, I'm going to be there opening night anyway .

Come to think of it I think a promo with Mikey doing/saying something dumb has sold me on every incarnation of the turtles since the 80s cartoon. I know that's why I watched the newest series and saw the most recent movie.
