I can understand where the designs are coming from. After all, they live in the sewers and are pretty much urban homeless ninjas.

But, I also see why most find this design "busy".

See Bay could have taken inspiration from the new cartoon, like this mornings episode. Paid homage to the old movie/one shot comic but a fresh spin to the story...
 
I like the new cartoon. I watch it with my son. In one episode Ralph says "That's as ridiculous as a turtle in a trench coat." haha

Y'all wanna complain this new movie it butchering the comics......... The OG cartoon did more than that

I Dont Care, Although I do enjoy thed dark original comics, I did also grow up in the 80s watching the OG Cartoons.. I did actually like the cartoons that came out in 2003 as well. This new Nickelodeon crap is just that. Wayyy to kiddie for my taste.
 
Naw that 2003 ish was straight garbage.
I mean they had some really dark, real life situation type stuff in those.
OG and the new stuff ftw but its obvious who is just saying stuff to "rustle",lol
Even though I enjoy "darkness" and "grit", I just don't enjoy them in my cartoon selection, lol...
I mean when the new Thundercats came on, that ish was straight depressing, lol...
Being an adult is "Real" enough for me, I need that light hearted laugh to keep from killing a ninja...

I don't know man. There have been a few episodes where the tone was very serious here and there. I really felt bad for the turtles the first time Shredder beat that ***. The turtles were truly defeated.

Lol...watch the og cartoon now and compare it to the tone of the new one...don't let nostalgia blind you :lol:
 
Yeah the OG does not hold up at all. Shredder and all the rest of the villains were lame and the turtles were just extra with the jokes. I loved it as a kid but not now. They even poked fun at them in the Turtles forever movie that came out a few years ago.
 
Now hold on there..lame is a harsh word to use for a cartoon that was big in the late 80s/ early 90s. Lol my 6 year old self would gladly relieve that era again.

I would like to compare it to the Adam west version of batman. Yea, it's cheesy now but it's what made it big in the first place.

But, I will say that you should give the nick toon a chance.
