Yeah people forget that the original 1990 movie wasn't Amadeus it was hella cheezy.

Fact is if the turtles didn't look as weird as they do, people wouldn't be all that up in arms. And the whole Megan Fox hate is weird to me.

Seems they're all wearing something that represents their personality too: Leo always the warrior wearing a samurai-esque bamboo chest plate, Michelangelo rocking Hawaiian shell necklace and we see Don rocking a backpack of gadgets he made.

and Raphael the Bad-*** Barbarian with the loin.

I love the first 2 movies, but with that said their look is beyond dated. Their change is pretty drastic but it's not bad IMO

In the new cartoon Aprils Father is a scientist(won't spoil that story) but he is not Splinter, so I wouldn't be oppose to that part of the story as long as it is as clever as the cartoon...
Now I seriously don't like Mikey's voice just because he was my second favorite( scared of what Raph is going to sound like) but I am kinda digging the massive looks to them, I don't know...
The reason the og flick touched all of us was because it was gritty but organic and it did really stay true to the Eastman and Laird source material.. But I'll still give it a chance, in the spirit of my childhood..

Who's comparing this to the original films? Or saying they were Oscar worthy?

There's a comic book and animated series to use as source material. This series has a lot of sentimental value to people and was a large part of their childhood. The only complaint is that it looks like another hollow summer movie that isn't faithful to the source material.

Give the movie a chance. The thing it has going for it is half the movie is going to be the origin of the turtles and shredder. If it's as good as transformers 1 I'll be satisfied

I just don't understand the point in making a movie based on something (comic book video game etc) and trying your hardest to be different from the source material.

Like why not just come up with something original? Oh wait that's right that'd require creativity and not just copy and pasting some ******** over a rough draft of transformers.

If you don't like the story don't make a movie about it "yea lets change the story make the characters look totally different we'll keep the name tho gotta cash in."

I really wish they went the darker route on this film. It just seems to action packed when it should be more like a Dark Knight martial arts film. When the buildings started falling, I didn't even understand why since we're talking about the Foot Clan here. This just seems to be the wrong route for a remake.

And I don't care what you guys say. The OG had a perfect blend of the 90's cartoon and comic book adaption. At the time, that movie was pretty dark considering the cartoon was so kooky.

I forget which comic it was but this drawing below was in it. The movie is almost exact to it instead it was Leo that was that got beat up and was the hot head and not Raphael.

Sometimes story can't even save what we already can see from the looks of things. Like I don't know why but I always get sucked in by end of the world type movies like Armageddon, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow and every time I watch them, they are all the same. This is an action packed adapt to a old cartoon. I am almost positive it is in the same lines as Transformers and GI Joe. Plus you can just put facts together.....Bay influenced, over the top CG, Megan Fox......I mean if you can't really tell what type of movie this is going to be, I think you just don't watch enough movies then.
