Activision Reveal New TMNT Title at Comic Con

1000

Activision has today announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – a brand new title developed by Magic Pockets, based upon the exploits of the classically-named foursome from the popular Nickelodeon animated series. This is a separate entity to the Out of the Shadows game that is part of this year’s Summer of Arcade.

The scrolling beat ‘em up will be available on the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS, with the two console versions featuring multiplayer drop-in-drop-out four-player action, which harks back to the classic Konami brawlers of old.

remember this?

Now if this is a fan made short film, tell me why I fear full length production with Million dollars budget is gonna be 1/4 f the quality of that little short clip....that joint looks so official...that's how the turtles should look.

i dont mean to double post again...but wow, they're actually using the soundtrack from the 1990 movie for that game^^^^...that is nice! :pimp: :D

After watching those two short fan made movies, is easy to say that if they mess this movie up, there is far more undiscovered talent out tere that given a large millions budget could probably put out some of the most epic films we've never seen....those were fun to watch and there wasn't even a complete story line.

April in the OG yellow jacket.....

But why is big bird in a trenchcoat with a tumor on his back??

"The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie being produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman seems to be borrowing a lot from the original TMNT animated series. With characters like Vernon Fenwick being*played by Will Arnett*and Bernadette Thompson*played by Whoopi Goldberg, it’s clear that this film is going to incorporate story elements from the show. Regardless of this, it would appear that there are no plans to use the original theme song from the much beloved Ninja Turtles cartoon. Brian Tyler, set to score the movie,*was recently asked*about whether he has any plans to at least make reference to the famous song. His response was fair, but if you’re a fan who was looking forward to hearing a revamped version of your favorite song, he explains that you probably aren’t going to get it:*“It’s like what they did with Transformers. I, of course, remember [the 'Transformers' TV show theme song] and the comic and then they made this live-action movie and it’s really like ‘Woah this is a cinematic thing,’ and that’s what they’re going for with Turtles. There’s something that really feels like there’s a real threat and it’s a lot of fun at the same time. So we’ll see, I don’t really know yet on that one.”*While he admits at the end that he’s not sure whether or not there will be any references to the original TMNT animated series theme song, it certainly seems like the plan is to do something entirely unique and cinematic. Brian Tyler, who will also be scoring*Thor: The Dark World, has worked with Liebesman before on the film*Battle: Los Angeles. To be fair, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies didn’t really feature the song either, but they also weren’t following entirely in the footsteps of the 80′s cartoon.*We have yet to see if this film will be heavily inspired by the show, but as we’ve already mentioned, there are indications to suggest that it might be. Even the new show from Nickelodeon*featured hints of the iconic theme, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the film has to do the same. I’m sure there are a lot of fans who would like to see a return of this memorable tune, but movies tend to be a different beast than cartoons. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below."

I was on tumblr searching April O'Neill tags and people have made a bunch of April/Donny beastiailtiy cartoons. My childhood was scarred. Didn't know April was into that stuff.

Sorry guys:  all the "on set" images need to go.  We just received an email from a Beverly Hills law firm claiming to represent Paramount Pictures and it seems they're trying to fight the release of these images around the web.

Whether you think that's counterproductive (that they should WANT people to discuss a film in production to create buzz) or not, ultimately it's Paramount's right to protect their copyright as they see fit and we're going to respect that.

Anyone who posts these unauthorized "on set" images will be removed from the thread.  Beyond Paramount's legal claim, posting such images represents a violation of NikeTalk's terms of service.  Obviously we don't want anyone using NT to break the law or violate someone's rights.

well damn

I was actually going to post pics of the turtle van just now lol
