Official TMNT thread, return of the classic giant figures

I'll say this, some movies are made well enough that adults and people that aren't fans of the characters can enjoy it anyway. This movie isn't one of them.

I just realized, didn't Fox and Bay have a big dispute when doing Transformers and they both publicly denounced each other?

TMNT holds a very special place in my heart and I want to see the movie just because of that but I am worried now.

Remember how they said they went back and made shredder not the white guy? I could defiantly see how it was possible. He unmasked shredder isn't really even in the movie.

My dude has 1 scene [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128557[/emoji] seeing him go up against Splinter without the armor would have been dope

Splinter was nightmare inducing bruhs, my wife kept turning away...dude looked like something out of a late 80's horror flick...but he was NASTYYYY dudes skills were on point and lived the way he used his tail..

Oohhhh and since when are the turtles fully bulletproof?...Raph was bouncing rounds of his chest...lmao

Yeah. The new origin story was very lame too. The story of the OG tmnt movie was kinda corny but it worked. It linked everyone together nicely enough. The new story was just........ :smh:

In this story they don't even know each other :x

The way shredder spoke, seems like they knew of each other...the story was just silly...like how April gonna survive the fire and save the turtles and ignore her father burning in there!?...lmao I loved the turtles themselves, but the movie is one of the worst directed movies I've ever seen in my life, is like they didn't even try...lol

I liked it
Idc what anybody says movie was enjoyable
Kids liked it as well
I found myself laughing a lot
Movie was funny
That snow scene was dope
Only thing I had a problem with the shredder plot to release that toxin it was lame imo
But I liked it
hope it makes enough to give us a part 2

O absolutely

Splitter found a ninja book and just took it from there?

April happens to have old videos of the baby turtles?

April followed the turtles after they saved everyone and nobody else has thought of that?

The turtles slid down sewers to trek what they said was a 40 min drive?

C'mon man

About to check this out now.

There's no way it's as bad as some ppl are saying,

Not at all. It's just really far fetched, even for a movie about mutant turtles

Id put it like this, everything that they kept true to the turtles was good. Everything that they changed was meh-buns.

how they end up in the sewer anyhow? And how is it that Oneal is minty clean after sliding through them sewers, not eem wet, the movie has plot holes galore...lmao

I'm the least critical viewer ever as I find enjoyment in all movies and I enjoyed this one, but certain things need to be consistent, like of the movie is based in NY, why the best scene is in a snowy mountain that we all know is NOWHERE near NY...how da hell does Splinter teach himself martial arts off a "ninjas for dummies" sketchbook....why is Raph as strong as the hulk? Tell me why after the subway scene and they tied up the footclan and knocked out that Asian chick, they show NYPD squat going into the subway, which I assume means they took the criminals, but 3 scenes later that Asian chick is untouched, who covered her bail?

I too ask the same questions. I'm not overly critical either. I watch movies in the mindset I believe they want you to view then in, but some things are so obviously poorly done and thought out it's like........cmon man

Turtles don't want to be known yet tell April everything about them with just a simple "who are you guys?"

Every one seemed to be taking giant mutant turtles very well seeing how they just found out about then an hour ago?

Raph apologizes at the end yet throughout the movie didn't really do anything wrong to his bros

Nobody else could turn on the machine to release the gas besides shredder?

Whole army downstairs but nobody come up to help?

I understand its directed towards the child demographic, but once I saw the Nickelodeon logo plastered on the screen during the opening credits I realized it wasn't going to be the movie I wanted it to be and my exact reaction was the Alonzo Mourning gif

Michael Bay only produced the movie but I feel like it would've been a better movie if he directed it tbh. This Battle LA director has no pull and got jerked around by the studio imo. Which is why we got such an uberly basic flick and changed the mythos for the kids I guess. There wasn't even a sense of fan service in the movie. But at the end of it all I enjoyed myself based off the turtles alone, I thought they were great and the more they were on screen I was forgetting about the gripes I had when the movie started. Snow chase scene, I thought, was pretty impressive in 3D.

Real talk I enjoyed this more than guardians of the galaxy
Any scene with the turtles on the screen was enjoyable
