Official LOST thread - gone to NT heaven

Lol I know J.J. was behind Alias, I just can't STAND Jennifer Garner. I don't know what it is, but every time I see her I get angry.

As for Buffy and Angel, I just never liked the idea of vampires and stuff like that. My ex also watched both religiously; maybe that's why I hate them.

But yeah, this episode did not have much weight.

^^ Yes, someone agrees. But I sure hope Lost doesn't go down their paths. All those shows were doing great their first 4 seasons, often hitting their peaks at the middle of their tenure only to slowly fall off.

I think it's because complicated storylines with up and downs turn off the casual fan, who aren't hardcore enough to keep track of the plotlines. And we all know that casual fans, for every show, make up the majority of the fan base. So, with decreasing incentive to end the show on schedule, networks force their writers to write up the end of the show way ahead of time, thus the forced, contrived endings.

Happens all the time.

^To the guys who said they think Jack might be an other and don't remember if he was wet at the beginning of the show. Then how would you explain his flashbacks of being on the plane, and getting the two shooters from Cindy. Also Rose recognized him from the plane. I don't think theres any possibility that Jack was not on the plane.

^ You can add the fact that Jack's dad had made contact with Sawyer and Ana Lucia. But the dude already knows that theory is out the window lol

With a show like LOST, I think it's hard for the producers to pick a course. We can't be fed the same amount of info and have secrets revealed to us in a mild manner because the elements of the show are very dynamic. Most of the questions we have require big, OMG-like answers.

Like I said, this episode does not have much weight, but it did lay an important foundation (and we know, the foundation is the most important part in building a good house). As nyknicks said, we need to keep an eye on Jack and Juliet's relationship, because it's more than what it seems.

Also, LOL at Sawyer calling Rachel "Slingshot Sally".

EDIT:

Although an interesting thought, we know for sure that Jack was on the plane, so that kills that theory.

He walks among us, but he's not really one of us...
I thought the point of explaining the origin of the tattoo was to emphasize that Jack is a leader. In other words, he walks among common folk, but he's really bigger than that. Thats why he eludes to there being a difference between the translation and the meaning to that evil chick at the end of the ep.

I thought the rest of the episode was pretty frustrating. Why would Sawyer let the Other go instead of asking the million and one things we don't know about the Others?? You find out they live on the same island as you with backyards and don't ask where???

And what exactly does it mean when you're "marked"?? I really hope next week's ep is more revealing.
Bapes are wack!

Jack is gonna make Kate jealous when she finds out that Juliette and Jack have a "thing" for each other. Dude has to, because why would he lie in order for her not to go home? He must care about her.

Jack is def. a leader. The "losties" always go to him when they need something. He is the nucleus for everything that surrounds the "losties" affairs as well.

On a side note. I agree 100% to what Amel233 said. This show was conceived to only last 4 seasons. And airing the show longer then that will drag out the events and lead to lack luster answers which we wont be appeased to.

I really hope they would keep it for 4 seasons, but that doesn't seem to possible at this very moment. We will see at the end of this season if and when the show does go on for a 5th season, and end in a featured film.

next week's episode is pretty dope though. We will get a Hurley flashback, and we will receive more incite to Libby.

Also the next episode is probably one of the most important episodes in season 3.
It will lead on till the end of the season.

Libby is extremely important as well.

I think they can definatly wrap things up after a 4th season very easily if they want. all though they have opened up tons of more story lines and new characters, i think most of those they could wrap up quick and easily.

4 seasons is fine for me.

"The X Files" was a pretty good show but they dragged that out way to long.

Thanks for the info, but these romances seem a little contrived and uninteresting. I'd rather learn more about the island and stuff than about jealousy and envy. I'll watch soap operas if I want to see weak love stories.

If anyone is aggravated about the promos lying about the whole "3 big mysteries will be revealed " thing, don't worry, the producers of the show were even complaining about them. ABC is 100% in charge of making the promos, so it seems like they're desperately trying to get LOST's viewers back. Meaning they'll take footage from 3 episodes ahead and say, "Next week on LOST!".

^^ I agree, showing stuff from next month and implying that it's all in the next episode is getting annoying, very annoying.

BTW, ooSFXoo, laces out! lol.... I'm in Psychoville and Finkle is mayor.

Yeah they have been doing that for awhile.

The scene they are showing on the clips from next weeks are mostly from the Sayid episodes. Which is 2 episodes from now.

Also whywesteppin , there is a reason why they are showing these love triangles in the show.

It's all apart of the ultimate answer to this show.

I thought tonight's episode was good...but not great. It kept me entertained throughout, but only because I kept wanting the questions answered.

They need to start answering questions WITHOUT making new ones. That formula was fine in the first season, but it's getting really watered down. It's to a point where it's frustrating now.

Jack's tatoo. Ok, we found out what it means. Big deal. Unless it has some other significant meaning and is tied into future plotlines that have major importance, this revelation was a huge letdown. The reason being is because they never focused on it in ant previous episode I can remember. In fact, I never paid much attention to it.

Cindy showing up again. I wish they would have answered why she left in the first place and why she's all of a sudden ok with being there.

The kids being taken to be placed in a better place. (sigh) They need to answer how its better.

Man, everytime you drop a hint like this, it just leaves me more confused.

Even though every theory now is emphasizing time and it matches what you were saying a couple weeks ago, I still feel like there's some major chunk of clue missing, i.e. people are getting closer to the answer but they're still way off.

Now that you mention it (the love triangles)....

In seasons 1 and 2, I noticed that all the Losties had very bad relationships with their families.

Now, it's becoming clear that pretty much everyone on the island has a love interest (or 2 or 3). Is Locke the only person who hasn't found love on the island? And I guess Desmond too. But they have lovers in the real world whom they desperately want to return to.

Are they meant to repopulate the earth or something?

actually I believe in the first season, Sawyer made reference to Jack, a doctor, having a tattoo. I think from looking at his Sawyer even knew that he visited Thailand before - I could be mixing up scenes though...

I hope next weeks episode makes up for tonights, because it was a bit boring I have to admit. The tattoo story was kinda disappointment.
