only program u need for image editing really.. unless uwant to go hardcore with renders n stuff...

Part One of How to Change Your Desktop.

Step One:

The programs used are:

WindowBlinds- What it Windowblinds does is that instead of having a boring toolbar and menu screens, it will DRASTICALLY change it with your personal choice of themes.

To this:

In order, this is how you can make it look like the desktop ontop.

Here. Windowblinds.net (Clicking the link will automatically start the download.

After you download and install. Follow these instructions.

Make a new folder in your Documents and label it "Windowblinds". This is where all of your themes will go.

Here.

After you download it, send it to your folder you just made for it.

Open up WindowBlinds, and click on the button seen here.

Find the folder:

The pick the theme you downloaded

WindowBlinds

After you have picked it, it will load up on WindowBlinds and is ready to be set for the change.

- Highlight the theme and click "Apply This Skin Now"

Wait for it to change, and you're golden.

Hopefully that clears anything up. Any further questions, just post them here.

Good question. I have tons of processes running, but I don't know what they do or if they're needed. Anyone know where I can check what each process does?

Horrible question here but how do I go about securing my wireless network? Can someone put down how to do it step by step or at least recommend a good website that will walk me through it? When I secure it, do I have to do it through the computer the router is hooked up from or can I do it through my laptop somehow?

maybe someone can help me out here. if theres a video i wanna see and its supposed to play from windows media player it never connects to the server and like google earth wont connect and my adware and antivirus programs wont connect to update so im trying to figure out whats the setting so that my computer allows them to connect to the internet. also my windows automatic updates turns off every 10-15 minutes; anyone know why this could be?

That's usually what you should stick to. If you look towards the bottom where it says processes, it should be around 30 give or take a couple.

Oh and I forgot to add, I usually go by this rule of thumb, If it ain't broke dont fix it!

Hey everybody.

Great post, CRC. Open question: I keep getting this pop up box saying im infected with blackworm, then i close it and a popup window comes up telling me to download some sheisty looking AV program. I have AVG up and running, 100% updated and not finding any problems, and i have adaware and just quarantined everything bad. Any idea what it is or how to fix it?

Right now I am connected to a wireless router with a wireless network adapter. But my adapter always disconnects for no reason and loses signal, and it takes a long time to connect back into the network. My question is, if I just connect a network cable to the router and to my computer, would I be able to set up a connection like that? and if so, how would I do this?

^ Just run a ethernet cable from your computer's NIC card to the router, I don't think there's a whole bunch of fancy configuration, it should automatically detect it.

Uhmmm....anyone with some computer knowledge care to weigh in? You can have just 1 process running that can hog your resources.

i think what he meant was that 30 or so is normal. windows runs a few processes, then there is antivirus and some other normal background programs. combined, they probably have 25 processes. if you have more than 30, it probably means you have viruses or adware or just have sloppy programs so you have trash like "realscheduler" or "quicktimeuselessness" running.

but you're right.... a single process can hog your resources, but most of the time, that process is something you're actively using, like photoshop...

And to the guy asking about the wireless connection

It is almost impossible to hold a strong signal with a wireless connection. I have one that I personally installed in as a pci card inside my desktop and I HATE IT. I can never hold connection and it just stops working sometimes. I recently switched to a land line and it works 100000 times better. Wireless Internet just isn't advanced enough yet to be able to support most systems (how people think high-speed internet should run).

Ok, I'm having a start up problem, I'm running an e machines computer, when I turn the computer on it shows the huge "e" symbol, but it doesn't move from that screen. I manually turned off the computer about 10 times before it would fully boot up. I know this is damaging the system, so I'm wondering how I could solve this problem.

I will probably take it and get it serviced, but they might wipe the hard drive clean, I would like to know how to set my ipod so that if my HD is erased and reset, I can plug my ipod in and the songs will transfer to the library. How Do I do this?

I think there is, because I connected the cable to my router and my computer and nothing happened. I tried making a new connection but it didnt work either.

I have 64 processes in my computer....what should I do guys? I have Mcafee firewall, antivirus all current. new comp too. what should you do? I think its the software that came pre installed but wannna make sure! any help would be appreciated
