I work with the guy who bought open office then sold it for over 500 mil, not only that...he got 80% of it in stock which tripled after the sale then he sold that as well. On top of all that, the market crashed causing their stock to plummet so he bought 50 mil worth of it and it doubled in 2 months. No kidding...I dont need to say it but, he eats well
 
Question for the computer geniuses:

When setting up a network at home, I know where is a way to assign a "master" computer which can overlook the other computers and what programs they're running, what they're downloading, etc, can anyone help me set this up? or any links to a a page showing how to do this? Thanks for all the info so far.

hey guys. whats the best spyware and anti virus programs? I can spenmd like $60 or so on one. I also need a firewall. I'm getting way to much unwanted stuff on my pc

i have a question regarding memory if anyone can help. i just got a new computer and it has 512mb memory with two expansion slots. can i just take the 512 from my old computer and slip it in or are there compatibility issues ??
 
^Depends the memory has to be the same speed and requirements such as pins and what ever the computer can read. Also i think RAM all have to be the same speed to be compatible. Also for airjordan seattle23 a good AV is Avast pro. Really good AV and takes system processing and doesnt slow your comp. down like mcafee or norton. Also does good at tracking down repairing or deleting viruses or infections. And last but not least Ad-Aware Pro with plug-ins and ad-watch are realllly good to have.

Im trying to get rid of some spyware that Spybot S&D can get rid of its called "Command Service"...Everytime i try to "Fix Selected Problems" It just says:

"Some problems couldnt be fixed; the reason could be that the associated files are still in use (in memory).This could be fixed after a restart.
May Spybot S&D run on your next sytem startup?"


Even after i restart my computer it still wont get rid of it...Any help would be appreciated...

^ Does Spybot: S&D tell the location of it? If so then delete it manually.

Nick,
from what I remember, the MBR(master boot record) is where the system gets it's startup information from. If the mbr can't find the active partition or the boot sector of the active partition, you can get this error. It can also be caused by using partition managers to change the size of default partitions.

Check through your bios to see if there is a place where you the boot partition is specified. If it is pointing to the wrong place that might be it.

If you happen to be dual booting, I can't answer. I'm sure there are some "utilities" out there that can help with this. If it is Win and you can boot into safe mode, try fdisk?

Like I said, this is from memory, so I'm not sure if it is 100% correct.

^ Yeah, at first I thought it was the MBR, so I used the Recovery Console on my Windows MCE install disk, but when I rebooted, it said "Error loading Operating System".

Then, I booted SPFDisk from CD, and it didn't even see the partitions on the disk, and when I tried to rebuild the MBR, it said "Invalid Partition Table". So, I don't know what to do. I'll look in the bios.

I am dual booting, and using Acronis OSSelector to switch between OS's. It's what initially caused the problem, but they told me just to fix the MBR, but of course, that didn't work. :\

There is an option in SPFDisk that says "Reset Partition Table". Will that fix this, or just erase all the stuff on the partitions? Thanks for your help.

Anyone know the differences between Windows Blinds 4.5 and 5.0.

I have 4.5 but I'm too lazy to upgrade unless there is a lot of differences.
