Six years ago today, I had the honor of creating the very first post on the NikeTalk message board. Since that time, 7,270,965 posts have been added to our community. According to ezboard, we're nearing 500,000,000 page views. NikeTalk has received visits from sneaker fans representing over 175 different countries around the world.
Perhaps most remarkably, we've accomplished all of this together without so much as registering with a search engine or spending a penny on advertising or promotion of any kind. Each of you managed to find your way here through word of mouth. Your voices have literally shaped our community. If nothing else, NikeTalk stands as testament to the sheer power of sneaker fans and our unique culture. All of NikeTalk's success, all that our community has accomplished, is a direct reflection of sneaker culture. As we have grown in popularity, sneaker culture itself has grown. As we react to the industry, the industry now reacts to us.
In six years, we have literally changed the game. Our community has emerged as the heart of online sneaker culture, and we'll see to it that its beat goes on for years to come.
