anyways..drake isnt as popular as cudi. nt has an obsession with drake so maybe it seems like that here but not to mainstream. cudi is on rotation in nyc heavyand day and night is even playing in the clubs now too.
 
^ Yeah, Drake needs some more mainstream buzz. Out of everyone, Cudi is ahead right now. Day n Night is getting bigger, more radio play.

Drake seems like too safe of a bet. It's like the record labels and A&R's drew up the dude from scratch. Wale missed the boat. I'm tired ofhearing about dude for so long without a studio album. The new breed of rappers need to break off the hood, guns, pitching/dealing, and getting rubbed up inthe club. Kid Cudi has the most breakthrough single to roll with. Day N Night is the new Paper Planes. Asher Roth's angle is nice, he has enough talent tokeep the listener engaged. I'm looking for B.O.B. to shine out of them all. He might not sell as well as the others, but he just seems ready to drop somegreat material.

I look at music through my prefrences and all these dudes are utter garbage .I don't give a damnabout record sales , I'm a fan of quality . If you aren't speaking to sales or attempting to make a judgment based on how much they'll sell, like an A&R would, stop talking aboutmarketing.

I didn't give my opinion on any of these artists...so I'm definitely NOT playing the corporate role behind my bedroom desk. I was saying that the postin which you deemed how fit these guys were to be marketed (A.K.A. playing the corporate role from behind your bedroom desk) was stupid.
 
i only read the first page so idk if anyone said this or not..

that list is pretty good, I could see all of um making a little noise in 09, some more then others. But i feel like they left someone out who I think is justas good as these guys... Cory Gunz. He has just as much a shot to blow up as these guys. And I think Drakes blow up moment is coming soon. Dude is

I F with all the artists musics that were listed except Roth. I'm on the fence about Asher Roth. I don't think his music is any good but he does sortof fill a void. That sort of Beastie Boy type @$+. I can see him either being huge or being another soundscan casualty.

not really, Kanye didn't overplay the college thing like Asher does

you listened to his songs? talking about beer pong and stuff...that stuff is going to get tired fast

everybody is going to look at Asher as the "college" rapper, and when he tries to come out with a CD without a gimmick it's going to go brick

If it aint happen yet, I prolly wont ever happen. More so with Royce 59 than the other two. I don't understand how ya'll are bringin these people intothe conversation tho. These guys are nice but aren't gonna blow. Unless the next renaissance come in the next 5 years, these guys are doomed to theunderground. No platinum albums, maybe gold, no sold out arenas, nocommercial deals, NOTHING.

Budden maybe.

Aster Roth - a lil Eminem..except their rapping concepts differ
Kid Cudi- a lil Kanye..tryna do something different, hes kind of a pop artist me a lil too
B.o.B- s lil Andre 3 Stacks...whole flow and everything

I dont hate on none of them..because although they have similarities to these rappers, they still wanna make names for THEMSELVES. and that cant be hated on.
