Those who live a christian life, how do you feel?

Just today it hit me that I've been running away from God. I've been saved (baptized) since I was a little boy, but still I fall and stumbleknowingly. I'm just really tired of the same old. I want more. I want to feel free, and know it. I want to know that God is there with me at all timeswith my best interest at heart. I "know" these things, but I don't know and feel these things like I ought because of how I'm living. Ijust feel like I'm distancing myself from God.

It seems like every time I make a step in progress, I take two steps back. I'm ready to change, but I've said that so many times before.

Those who actually walk the walk, how does it feel?

I really don't want this to bring up any debates. That is not what the post was meant for.

I believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins so we can be re-united with God as we turn away from our sins. I believe that you can't get to God withoutChrist.

This is why I'm asking the Christian NTers, who actually live the life, and not just talk about it.

So do you believe I am destined for Hell or I am truly a Heathen? Or that all those whom don't embrace Christ as the lamb of God to be destined for Hellfire?

This will turn into a debate then ska is going to come in here and try to explain theunexplainable

Christianity is a touchy subject, especially here on NT. people don't take it serious and think it's a big joke. i'm a Christian, i was saved atthe age of 22. i've been feeling like you have here lately. the devil will work hard to get you to fall, and then when you're down, he'll jump onyour back and not let you up. it's been one thing after another for me. part of it is my fault, and part of it i don't understand. you can't letthese things get you down, and keep you down. it's hard being a Christian in today's world, you've done more than most would. admitting Christ diedfor our sins. just keep your head up, pray, and resist the devil. stay stong brother, it's not an easy road.

Is it hard? Really?

I haven't noticed...

Most Christians that I've met are fine with just a few hail mary's and our fathers as "repentance" for their sins. Heck most of themhaven't read a verse from the Bible and believe that simply believing Christ as the lamb of God is enough to be forgiven for all sins both past present andfuture.

Its a false sense of security, it takes more than just that to save you Christian or not.....

You want real advice? Follow that gut feeling, its called your conscience, if you're going against it you're doing it wrong....You know how to be agood man...

If you love god then you will want to try to live by his standards. It's definitely nothing you should be forced to do at all. Since were not perfect thenof courde you will make mistakes. I feel that as long as you repent sincerely then you will be forgiven. Personally for myself though it is a challenge I stillenjoy living this way.

you know when there's a thread and some christian dude comes in posting a bunch of religious views and pisses everyone off? right now sneakerheathen is that dude. only the tables are turned. the op was obviously asking CHRISTIANS for A CHRISTIAN'S point of view. your religious or antichristian arguments are not even close to answering what the thread is asking. nowadays it seems that some atheists, agnostics, and other non christians doway more preaching and argument starting than christians ever did. op, i hope you find what you need.

I'm Catholic (I know it's still Christian)...I'll admit I fell off, it seemed like once I got to college (not using that as an excuse) I wasn'tas close with God. I keep telling myself I want to develop my relationship again.

Same. There's just so much time to act wreckless. It's very hard. Just continue to pray. He hasn't left you.

Not looking for an argument, but OP opened a can of worms....

As a Muslim, (religious views aside) I believe anyone whom is a GOOD person. A SELFLESS person, a person whom has done good throughout his life, God fearing ornot I cannot believe he is Hell bound....

I SIMPLY CAN'T...

With that said, It boggles my mind that so many Christians can basically straight up tell me that I'm hellbound because I don't believe Christ is thelamb of God.....

nothing wrong with that. if you started a thread asking for a muslim point of view, i would be wrong to come in pushing how i dont believe thatmuhammed was anything special. just saying this didnt seem like the topic to come in and stir up some kind of uneeded argument. the op was asking for somehelp with something that is obviously important to him. and he wanted help from someone who's been in his shoes. if you're not that person thenyou're just a trouble maker. i wont respond anymore.

Lol so I'm a trouble maker because OP made a highly controversial topic in a diverse forum that is sure to warrant some debate and off topic discussions?

This is NT, full of people of all different religious backgrounds, you're looking for 2 cents but you're going to end with change for a hundred.

If I made a thread directed at other Muslims I'd probably take it to another forum, or I'd make peace with the fact that people whom aren't Muslimare going to find some of the things said in this thread to touch a nerve.

If the Giants lose today, you'll know why.

I'm going to try and help you out, even though me and you aren't really in the same boat at all.

I would say first, define exactly what it is you want and expect from your religious beliefs. What religious guidelines are you willing and unwilling tofollow. Make sure your goals for your relationship with God can be completely attainable by listing and examining these goals so you are fully aware of whatyou are trying to achieve.

secondly, start going/or change to a church that you feel completely comfortable in, no questions asked. If certain techniques, prayers, or practices are beingused that you aren't comfortable with, leave. This goes for the pastor and even the church itself. You want your surroundings to accentuate your beliefs, not hold you back from true kinship with God.

You must at all times remember that your relationship with God is unique, and you cannot go by standards set by anyone else. Others may have much higher orlower standards for what they expect, but if you let these people influence your relationship, you didn't do the the first thing on this list. I think thebottom line is being comfortable to allow yourself to completely open up to a belief, so I guess go from there. Remember, just because you pray and go tochurch, doesn't exactly make you a religious, or great person.

I am in no way an expert, nor am I by any means religious. These are just my point of views, and I felt like sharing to help you out OP. This subject goes muchdeeper, and I may or may not be equipped to help out on those questions, this is just a taste of what I THINK I know.

^I appreciate that. Those are great points you brought up

I think I don't feel comfortable with fully expressing how I feel, and it hinders giving my all.

If it takes believing in something that obviously doesn't exist for you to feel content as a man, then you probably have a few...
