But at least some people have the balls to admit that they dont know.

It takes balls to admit this? I'd like for you to explain this to me. Some people were just brought up a certain way, and have stuck to the believes thatthere parents have bestowed upon them. This makes them cowardly?

Feelmode was
laugh.gif
@ the fact that this particular religion says that if you dont follow the word of their God, then you will be condemned to hell. That'sit. This is obviously extreme, i just thought it was
eyes.gif
the way he came into the thread with all the rolling emoticons.

I find it laughable when people say "being a Christian made me better"... come on. Christianity kept you from giving into temptation? So, if itwasn't for Christianity, you'd be out murdering and raping left and right?

Religion makes men pathetic.

Well that was the 2nd part I only saw the 1st part. ehh it is
laugh.gif
to me though. But i guess some people get offended but I get offended at christians who may live a worse life than me who think I'm going to hell.

Edit: This is way off from the OP. Didnt even last 1 reply. I was going to be a respectable atheist and stay out but someone had to be ignorant towardschristians which brought the ignorance out of other christians which forced me into this thread.

These threads always call me back

By this stupid logic, everyone who had temptations would have temptation to murder. Maybe someone found religion and decided to turn their life around? What's the problem with that? And
laugh.gif
@ religion makes men pathetic, because i know a few older dudes who are religious, and are BALLIN outrageous. I seenothing pathetic about their lives.

I definitely see where you and Feelmode are coming from, it would definitely irk me if someone who led a bad lifestyle, told me they were going to heaven overme simply because they believe in god. Truthfully, if they werent living a good lfiestyle they wouldnt be following the teachings of jesus anyway, so thereargument would be invalid. All in all, my point is that religion can be good, and the lessons it tries to teach are good ones. There's always going to beelitists, just gotta learn how to ignore em.

Thank you.
Fifth, you are acting like i came in here just straight up bashing people. I took 2 comments that i read in this thread, that were beyond ridiculous and ilaughed at the idea that somebody knows for a fact (the word fact was bolded and in capital letters btw
laugh.gif
) that they will live in eternity, and they knowthis as fact because God told them so.
The 2nd i directly commented on was this idea that a noble human being, someone who leads a near perfect life (in regards to sin), but doesnt believe in theteachings of the bible would then burn in hell for the same time period of "eternity".

If me pointing those two things out as being ridiculous classifies me as classless then so be it, but classless doesnt even come close to describing whatpeople are that think a man like Ghandi will be spending eternity in hell because he didnt have the same beliefs as they do.

^ you make valid points that i agree with. and i never said you were a classless person, as i dont know you, i simply said the way you went about expressing urbeliefs came off that way. i apologize if it seemed i jumped all over you (nh), i just didnt think OP or ne other christian would have appreciated the way youwent about saying what you did. thats all. then again were on a messageboard, and a lot worse things have been said

I stumble to bruh, but you have to allow God to help pick you back up. I try to live the same life but its hard for me, and it can be easy for you.

So, "BALLIN outrageous" makes them not pathetic? You, my fellow NTer, have a very bad outlook on life.

Nah my outlook on life is fine. Im simply saying these men have accumulated wealth, have very succesfull careers, and are very happy. I just dont see howtheyre pathetic. You're outlook on religion is bad, but my outlook on life is just fine. "BALLIN outrageous" was a stupid way to put it, but iwas just trying to get the point across that they're very sucesfull people, regarldess of there religious beliefs.

I got saved pretty much a year ago, when I was 16. Now that I look back at 2008, I don't think I really made progress. When you're saved, you'renot perfect, but I feel like I didn't strive to do right, make the right decisions, because I still do sinful things like I tend to cuss sometimes, lie,get angry at people to the point where I want to kill them, and I get mad at my parents. And I've been trying to cope with my judgmental youth group, wherethese 3 people think they're always in charge. And lately, I've been thinking, that part of the reason why I want to go to college is to get away fromchurch, and my youth group, when I know that isn't right. I can't let other people push me away from God, they are not worth it, I shouldn't beworrying about the changes around me, I should be focusing on God more.

I also feel the need to pray more, I can't even remember the last time I talked with God, I acknowledge him every day, like I just say a few words, butnever a deep, conversation with God. I feel bad about it

Thanks to everyone who gave words of encouragement.

I feel a breakthrough coming along. I have to get right, especially being that I'm about to graduate. I feel depression is about to hit a lot of us hard.Have to be strong through those trying times.

People aren't built like they were before. A lot of stuff gets to us.

^ Thank you for making this thread, it really helped me, I talked with Him and restored my relationship after what's been about 7 months. You helped merealize that I need to have a better and right walk, that I can't be lazy and keep pushing God away. I really appreciate it man, it isn't an accidentthat you made this thread, I guess God wanted me to really get hit hard by reality that I pushed him away for so long. I'll pray for you brother, don'tlet anything get in between you and God.

Btw, where's RKO and ska?

I'm christian and I'm believe jesus died for our sins, but I been half +!%. In fact, my life haven't really been all christian-like at all.Anyways, I wants to know what the meaning of life is?

I just read the OP's first post and his plea of this not turning in to a religious debate... skip over to page 5 and

Religion makes men pathetic.

I agree 100%.
Holding onto religion alone does make men pathetic..But a true relatoinship with GOD through Christ makes men complete.

, that will be added to my favorite quotes on facebook

James 2:18

Let the way you live your life be the symbol of your belief in the Savior. Christ commanded us to follow him to be like him.

A belief in the Savior and his teachings is more than just professing that belief. It's becoming a new person through Christ's sacrifice and changingwho we are, to a more Christlike and Christ-centered person.

I haven't gone through the entire thread yet, but I better not see any "athiests" seeing as they could care less right
eyes.gif

Any way I used to be agnostic, but now God is present in my life and I could not be happier. It isn't a facade or for weak minded people. It takes strengthto know that you are apart of something you do not understand.

In short I couldn't be happier.

Athiests know that they are a part of something that they do not understand. Religious believers think they understand theun-understandable.

Yo!

I'm here. I just found it like a hour ago.

OK lets get started. Well living right is def. not easy. You have sin literally EVERYWHERE on this planet. The best thing to do is remain consistent withreading God's word, praying and leading by example. Its certainly not a cake walk but with faith and strength you'll have a easier time. Just when youthink your in the clear something pops up to distract you.

As for how it feels, it feels good but its also hard. Especially here on NT. Dudes be thirsty with the thirst of 10 men who haven't drunk a liquid in amonth to get a rise out of cats. I remember a few nights ago DearWinter was posting about his "Near Life EXP" and some dude came in trying to crap onhim. But you have to stay consistent and keep your head on right.

If you ever need help or advice myself and others are always here for you. God Bless.
