I agree with you. Some dude on Conan O'Brien Show say they're already in progress of making an elevator from Earth to the Satellite Station.
I'm not sure how that is possible though.

Its not like every good scientist works for US Military.

Maybe im not sold because we dont exactly know what they working with...
I think any major technological advance is gonna be money oriented first, rich people care about getting richer, not protecting america
Huge technology breakthroughs take massive amounts of capital in order to accomplish.
Very few individuals can provide such capital especially when future returns on the investment aren't guaranteed.

Gov't, however, can furnish such capital because of its power to tax and doesn't really care about losing out on its investment because it can alwaystax to cover its loss and generate more capital.

The vast majority of high tech breakthroughs were accomplished because of gov't money.
The feds provide taxpayer money for research to every major high tech sector.

As for high tech gadgets, I'd say the latest spy satellite. Top of the line communications systems. Top of line imagery gadgets. Top of the linematerials....

We get the Blue Angels in the bay every year too, but the additional jets we get is F-16s and a few other jets. They need to bring F-22s over heretoo.

I'd say the F-22 as well; or aeronautics in general. In just over 100 years, we have gone from two brothers flying a craft that included wood in NorthCarolina to an F-22 capable of flying Mach 2-!*% undetected. F-22 is over 20 years in the making so who knows what those defense contractors will come up withnext.

But gadgets? Iphone =

The laser that the US government has that has the capability to shoot satellites out of space (or do whatever they want with...

I dunno. You know these were in service in 1964? And they obviously took a few years to design it.

You have to bet that they've got some pretty special stuff in the last 40 years that we don't know about.

, looks like it about to drop deuces on a country .
Isn't this the joints that is invisible in the sky cause of its body design and the way the light hits it?

thus stealth is in the name...

yeah, but its not really "stealth" because of the loud sound it makes
