nah friends of the roommates are generally a friend of yours, people aren't as bad they're made out to be for the most part.

Those locks aren't exactly all that safe. Like someone else said, if you really wanted that locked-up laptop, you could get it.

Your best bet will be LoJack for Laptops. LoJack is installed on a lot of cars and helps to locate the cars after they've been stolen. It works the sameway for your computer. Look into it, it's well worth the price if you're really that worried about your laptop getting stolen. I got mine for cheaperthan the price on the website when I bought my laptop.

but for now....kick back b, your roommates wont steal anything of yours, especially when your sleeping

Invest in lojack anti-theft system for your mac, I copped the 3 year for mine (to soothe my mother's worries)

I haven't had a scare but it's something good to fall back on...

Just get a laptop lock and password-protect your computer. I think that's pretty much all you need to do (and should do, really). There's a 99.9999999%chance your roommate won't steal it anyway, there's a trust factor between roommates that needs to be shared and they're in your same position too.But take those two precautions and it will be good enough

I lost a brand new 160GB iPod. I was pissed cuz I had it a few days before going home and the day I needed it it was gone. I always left my laptop on my deskand had no problems. Just make sure your door is locked at all times when no one is there. That is how you lose stuff. The guys across the hall from us losttheir xbox 360 cuz they ALWAYS had their door open. Hell, one of my suitemates got locked out going to the bathroom one very late night and just went in thereto sleep. Dudes did not notice at all.

To NOT Keep it in your dorm FTW

Word to your roomate may be cool, but his friendss maybe sheisty.... Speaking from experience.
