How?!
The first Aunt Viv was boring to me. I always hear how people liked the fact that the 1st Aunt Viv was more vocal and whatnot but I never caredfor that. I felt that 2nd Aunt Viv was a better fit, whether she had a limited amount of lines or not, I enjoyed the show more. And people actually found thefirst Aunt Viv attractive?!
The original for multiple reasons. The original one was a better mother, a stronger woman, and she was dark.

Because she was dark? Really?

The first one.. The show got boring after the second one was introduced, well, even before that.. But that still doesn't change the fact that the first onewas in the best episodes..

It doesn't matter that much though, because every other member of the family was responsible for making the show what it was more than aunt Viv, she wasthe weakest character.

honest answer, the producers wanted a lighter skin tone female to be uncle phil's wife, you'll notice uncle phil is not that dark as heis, however the original aunt viv had threatened a lawsuit i believe unless she was casted. They switched over to the other aunt viv when her contract hadended.

- Why didn't they replace the OG (darker complected) Aunt Viv' with another darker complected Aunt Viv'

???

- When they first pulled that switcheroo, I was soooo confused, like "where the heck did she come from?"

Like, were we all supposed to instantly forget about the OG Aunt Viv'???

%%$% does that mean?

- I DO think OG Aunt Viv's darker, more ethnic complexion influenced, on some level

her ousting from the show. If they were trying to maintain continuity, and the OG Aunt Viv HADto leave the show, they could/should have replaced her with someone physically similar.

- Why not a dark complected, big-boned aunt Viv'

lol that never popped up in my head smashin that, but now that i think about it, i would too

1st Aunt Viv had more character, but it did seem like the 2nd fit the show more. It never mattered to me, the character in general wasn't that importantto the show.
