I bought a Philips 42 in from Sam's Club for 800 dollars. They just brought the same exact TV but with 120hz instead of 60hz, and it's 1,000 dollars.Should I exchange? I watch mostly sports and movies, and play some PS3.

Not sure about Philips, but for SONY and SAMSUNG ...u can tell the difference ...picture seem to POP out at yall ....

i just bought a samsung w/ 120hz, and right now, from the info i have gathered, for sports and cable tv, it is not worth it. down the line, it should be.

i myself haven't noticed a major difference, and have had nothing but problems with the tv, which most likely will result with me hurling it over the bestbuy customer service counter if they don't get it fixed real soon.

for 25% more money, i doubt i would make the exchange.

Well I guess I can understand for sports.

You must not own Blu-ray.

Makes sense now.

I really don't see that big a difference, only difference were the words on the ticker came out a bit crisper. It's really a matter if you think youneed it. Some people just need to go for the overkill.

You really must have bad vision.

you said you watch mostly sports, so it's definitely worth it.

my philosophy is that when it comes to something that you use a lot, you shouldn't skimp on it....like a tv or toothpaste (aquafresh > colgate>>>crest).

How is it overkill?

It all depends on what you're comparing it to. 120Hz processing doesn't necessarily mean pixel response has actually improved, only that the processorinserted more interpolated frames. Which is useful only for 24fps film/blu ray which is what you guys are yelling about. I rarely watch any blu ray films on mybro's Toshiba LCD because I have a Samsung plasma but I do not see much of a difference on the Toshiba than I do with any other 42 inch tv that includes120hz. It just doesn't seem to be that big of a deal from what I've seen

the OP did not specify how he watches movies, thats why i said "cable"

transformers on blue ray is good, while on hbo-hd is AWFULLLLLL.

Most NTers just don't know what they're talkingabout. You actually seem to know something about TVs unlike 75% of the people speaking about them on these forums.
