I use Burts Bees soap for men. It's new and a lot better for your body than the majority of popular bar soaps/body washes. You can't even imagine allof the toxic chemicals in popular soaps/body washes like dove, suave, and axe especially.
As far as the dorm thing goes I live in one too but I only share the bathroom with my roommate and keep my soap in a container and put it in my drawer whenI'm not in the shower.

I'm using this peppermint stuff from bath and body works. It opens up pores where you think you don't have pores. I'm about to switch up thoughbecause its too cold outside and it really opens you up.
