no clue how it happened my macbook just wouldnt boot up, so i took it to genius bar and they deemed it a bad harddrive...if the files were transferrable they wouldve asked me if i wanted to pay the $50 dollar fee to transfer the data, but they didnt which means data cant be transferred

try an adapter such as any of these for a USB 2.0 to IDE or SATA connection. the industry is suffering because they put out a poor product, and they refuse to deliver that poor product in a format consumers want. its justlike the auto industry, they can adapt or go under. besides, record companies have been robbing consumers for decades by putting out multiple greatest hitsalbums and reissues of existing content. if youre concerned about your favorite artist making a living, go to a show when they tour.Originally Posted by 703 Hwy

i have tinnitus, and i can still tell the difference a lot of the time. the real difference kicks in when you compare mp3 to lossless.Originally Posted by shatterkneesinc

did disk utility at least recognize the harddrive? cause if it didnt then you might be out of luck. but yeah put it in the enclosure and after youinstall os x to the new HD, buyOriginally Posted by WhUtIzIt
^ yea i tried booting from the startup disk and repairing through disk utility, but no dice....so i just toss my old HD into that enclosure and usb it to my macbook and copy the files?
Not only that, if it weren't for the internet and the ability for me to download tracks for free and listen, 90% of the stuff i listen to iwould have never even heard of, so i wouldn't have bought the **!@ anyway. Besides, i still go out and buy hard copies when i feel the material is goodenough.Originally Posted by mr delorean
