*I'm sorry about making another Kanye thread*

Anyway..

recently, I have seen many comments saying that Kanye has fell off. I don't understand how these comments came about.

I understand that his music may have dropped off a few notches compared to his early material but he hasn't officially fell off.

DMX, Snoop Doog, LL Cool J, Mobb Deep, and many others have "fell" off. I don't see how Kanye fits into this category.

His last album went plat...which came out in november...what 2 months ago???

you tell me if you think he fell off.

I think he fell off hard....but its because he got to full of him self.....he thinks he is gods gift to music...and he obviously is not..

^^^^Fergie go's plat...does that make her fresh??? sales do not equal greatness.....ask underground hip hop about that....

Fell off? He's so far ahead he's in a league of his own. Its just so new and fresh its hard to critique and hard adapt to.

Edit:

He didn't.

No mater how much he sells, he fell off in terms of content, IMO. I hope Kanye will straighten up soon, dude was once my favorite artist SMH.

I somewhat agree.

His albums are still much better than most mainstream rap artists though. But I think it's hard for any artist to make albums that top their classics.

What I don't understand is how can someone consider an artist to fall off because of one album or style of dress.

He has gotten progressively worse.
When he first came out
smh.gif

College Dropout, his production, his guest features ("Selfish" and "This Way" FTW)
Then Late Registration, which was dope, but not as good as CD IMO)
Then Graduation, which was average to me.
Then 808s which is trash to me.

No... just no.
Autoton + lame singing =/= "new and fresh"

yall can say all that but really...do you think he would be going plat if he fell off??? hell even gold?

you guys can say he's not as good as he use to be
but saying he feel off is absurd.

Be real with yourselves

Do you want him to start making soul beats again?

His 1st two albums were very dope, and i still have them on rotation on my ipod.

Graduation to me was average at best, many fillers on the cd. And 808's & HB was really a joke

, but I wont get into that. People stay saying everything he is doing isgroundbreaking, but it has been done before, and better.

I can careless about what Kanye is wearing, or how he is acting, as long as he is making good music, and lately he hasn't.

Not at all.

808's is like when Jordan went to baseball. His pops died and he did what his mind told him too. I just look at this Ye taking a break from rapping to justvent his frustration in a weird wacky creative KanYe way.

If you heard his verses on some of his other stuff that he raps on, it's pretty dope. Gifted and Digital Girl are both on repeat.

while ya'll on 10 im on 11
i'ma make the news be on at 7
matter fact im on this very second
i'm in first and ya'll in second
and this verse only add to the freshness

Your body make a baller spend cook coked cash
Plus every good girl wanna go bad
And poles in the mag like Stacy dash
Or Kim Cardash and be a lady addict
You know what's a crazy thing
A girl would make you wait longer than ac green
Passion of the Christ 33 year old virgin
That's disrespectful baby don't encourage him
I like them brown yellow Puerto Rican or Persian
Dashiki kimona or turban
They say I dress white but my swag so urban
Tryin' my work
I hear the way the text say
Baby you up
Question mark
And she was my yes-s-s-i-r

He produced Swagga Like Us & Brooklyn We Go Hard, 2 of the biggest street records in awhile. Dude still has it, just doesn't over saturate themarket like how he did when he first came out and produced stuff for everyone. Instead, he works with the people from his label. Consequence got a new albumproduced by Ye and Q-Tip which should be pretty dope.

He didn't fall off, he just decided to not rap & sample on his last album, which is what most people fell in love with him for doing.

The beats on "808s & Heartbreak" do go hard, but I prefer his sample based productions. His first 3 albums, Common's "Be" &"Finding Forever", and all the other old tracks he did before he was in the limelight.

He can still do it, and I'm sure he will again.

I dont think he fell of because he knew what he was doing when he made the CD

He knew he was going to lose fans, he admitted it

He more "leapt off"

He didn't fall off... he just did something different.

When Mike played baseball, it didn't make him worse at basketball.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnhhhhhhhhhhhhh

touchy subject. id say he has somewhat, but it all depends on how you interpret the album.

i will say im axious to see what he does next and where he goes with the music. maybe then 808s will start to make more sense musically. i think its atransition album, so im not gone be too critical of it. and you have to applaud him for doing something different, but there are a lot of people who do"808s" type of music and have been for some time now and are a lot better at it. so id hope to see a bigger improvement and a not so rushed soundingalbum. im all for him not rapping, just get better vocally at singing and he might be good money riding this wave.
