What is your ritual when you get a new pair?

My ritual is buying them
then keeping them in my trunk until my parents go to sleep
when I get them in I smell them and just gaze for a while
then put them back in the box
 
I always grab the left shoe un'ds the laces put them on to get the feel of them ..then try to put the lacesback how they came

then back in the box
untill its time to be worn

i just open the box and look at it. and when i am ready to wear it i try i lace it up. unless its a sneaker i dont know how it fits i try it on.
 
always smell them. take the laces out depending on how they were put in. i always try to have the laces laying flat and not twisted at all. get themadjusted so i can slide them on and off without having to tie them and so that the laces dont drag the ground.
 
take em outta the box and check for glue..put them on the box and check em out from a distance..lol
Re-lace them before i put them back in the box
 
take them out the box, touch and feel them for 5 minutes, then post a for sale thread on niketalk, iss, or ebay.

On a side note reading this thread makes me understand NikeTalk as a whole just that much more....

i take the shoe laces off. relace them the way i want it. try it on with a few clothing to see if it looks good on me. and then im good to go. and clean anysmall scuffs or dirt marks.
 
I always take a big wiff of that new shoe smell...usually cause thatll be one of the last times. I rock all my heat.
 
Look to see if there are any problems, smell them a little, then put them on top of the box until I'm ready to wear them.
 
depends on the season.

in the winter i try them on in front of the mirror, then put them back in the box and into
my closet.

in the summer i sometimes wear them right out of the store, or i bring them home and
wear them the next time i leave the house.

after the initial first wear i tend not to wear them again for a while
