When I made my avy it was around 90,000 bytes, why does it jump up to 300,000 bytes when it's uploaded to Yuku? That's not right, and it should befixed, because I'm almost positive that never happened on ezboard NT...

whoa(i saw that..by why is that)...what happen brah..geah mang it needs to fixed...homie(DUB 253) does make dope avy's

...trust

Yeah, Meth, Peyotn(after the game today of course) can you guys help us out????

I just realized that even all my old 60x60 avys that used to be under the limit are now too big...

I agree with boxden. The avy size is 100x100 which means it increased by 170%. Then the size limit should be upped to 255.

Don't look at me - I didn't code it. That's an issue you're free to report in the yuku support forums, it's something I'll bringup along with other issues and suggestions surrounding the migration, but it's not something I can fix directly.
The size limits are what they are. The needs of dial-up and mobile device users remain the same. There's no functional reason why anyone needs a20 second movie in their personal pic. We'd like ezboard to address the issue, but the size requirements will remain the same.

If you can't meet the size requirements now, use a still image. Still images are automatically resized to fit the space, so no one should ever have aproblem with file size. It's only moving images that have proven problematic.
We won't be BANNING people for it, but we can disable your personal pictures so they won't display on our forums.

I gotta be honest, I'm lovin the old sized avy's in the larger frames. I keep seein people with avy's more blurred than illegal PPV

But so far, so good, IMO.

I doubt they'll raise the size, so just might as well just use pics. It'll be easier to read through threads now if people keep their avys under limit.

Thanks Meth.

it was increased by 66.7 % not 170%

66.7% of 150kb is 100...so thats 250

I appreciate you not banning anyone, but the problem is that these Avies aren't 20 seconds. They're 3 seconds, and they're still over thelimit.

yea, its kind of tricky, i made a gif right now that was 145 kb ... then i upped it on here and it said it was 250 kb on here, i have no idea why, but i justtook it down for now until i figure this out..

word, or at least 200K.
Let's get greedy and ask for 300k

.

It'll stay as it is: 150,000 bytes.
You don't NEED a movie in your personal picture. That's not important to the operation of our forums. It is important, however, that dialupand mobile users are able to load the site. Their BASIC functionality takes precedence over something that's purely for show.

hey meth, any chance of having a pic in the signature if the combined sizes of the avy and banner in sig's is under 150 kb..

my avy right now is like 10 kb.. and most of my banners i use on other boards are only like 15kb.. thats way under 150 kb.. just throwing it out there...

No, we don't want images in signatures. I'm not going to check the file size of a bunch of images and add them up for thousands of users. Plus, the board just plain looks cleaner without all the garbage. Everyone thinks their signature is special individually, but collectively it becomes an eyesore. What matters is the content of each post. The recurring signatures may interest you once, but it's the same thing every time. We give people theopportunity to add a personal picture and you have plenty of customization potential in your profiles. That's more than enough.

Functionally, that makes no difference. If it's taking up 300 KB, it's twice the limit and it extends the load times for dialup/mobileusers significantly.

Until the problem is resolved, I trust you can survive with a still image. If not, you'll be going without a personal picture on NikeTalk as we'lldisable it.
