Your Favorite of the XXL Freshmen 2009

My personal favorites are

Wale: Perfect mix of conscience & mainstream rapper

Cory Gunz: ehhh he's not as good as he was on his apprentice mixtapes, but i still place a bet on him

Charles Hamilton: most people be frontin' like charles' music is 100% sonic and knuckles-inspired verses. I've listened to about 7 or 8 of hismixtapes, i've only honestly heard about 5 songs out of those 7 or 8 mixtapes where he was talking aboutsonic. Brooklyn girls is

, I didn't think he would put something like that out, and that's aextremely good look for a first single.

Blu: I don't think he will be one of those well known rappers but his music is beyond music, his flow/topics are amazing and i hope he's able to staylong in this rap game

Same here. Everyone who hears his music is captivated by it. I haven't loved an entire album so much in a long while, the only track I'mnot feeling is "Juicen Dranks"

Blu (Haven't check for him yet),

Gotta go with Blu. Repping the west and he's on a level above the others.

He has 3 albums and they are all good. Any one that hasn't heard him do so. You will not be disappointed.

Get these songs: In Remembrance, Dancing In The Rain, So(ul) Amazing, and Wow

2 and 3 would be Wale and Kid Cudi.

Blu and Cudi. A lot of hype for these new "artists" is ridiculous. People being the hype of their city and the same people hyping them up don'teven f with their music.

@ the moment CuDi and Wale...tryna ease into there music one by one...so the styles don't clash...next on my list is Blu though hearing good things abouthim

I only rock with Cudi, Wale, and Asher.... and I'm with my NY cousins SOME Charles Hamilton. ( only cause they rock with him)

that song by blu was not my cup of tea, the beat didnt captivate and his story just didnt amuse me...just not for me...i wanna see Asher Roth do a seriousproject...

Wale. But i'm biased since i'm from PG. He's gonna blow (pause)
Blu is my second favorite, but I can't see dude making it big.

Curren$y is easily my favorite off of that list. I could probably play each one of his mixtapes front to back. Really lookin forward to an album.

I haven't gotten into Blu yet, but what I have heard from him is all good. Some Charles Hamilton is good and same goes for Cudi. I don't like AsherRoth too much. Haven't listened to too much B.o.B. or Wale (besides Mixtape About Nothing, which had some heat on it.)
