Stencil Tag Inside Tongue

I searched here, and google, before any JB nazis jump on me. The stencil font AIR JORDAN tag inside the tongue on the IVs and Vs, which are supposed to beupright and which are upside down? Also, anyone know the story behind the tag?

Back in the 80's people used to rock their jeans with their tongues hanging out face-down...

...So Nike made it a style to produce them upside down so it would show AIR JORDAN right-side up.

^ the 5 tongue cant be folded over like the 4s so no reason to make it upside down. Not much of a reason for it at all for that matter.

if i remember correctly ppl used to wear their jeans over their tongues and the tongues were flipped down. This made the Air Jordan upright

thats wat i was thinkin. cuz i remember the 1st time i seen the tag upside down when i bought my millitaries i thought i had some fakes or some defects lol. iwent on a crazy mission to make sure they were legit

And from what I remember back in 89-90 when the 4's and 5's came out, jordans were part of the flight series. All of them had the tag on the inside,ie. Air flight 89's, air solo flight's, air flight 90's, and the air bound 1's
