Every Jordan fan knows the story of MJ being presented the Air Jordan III that Tinker designed which in turn "Saved" Nike. But I never heard anybodysay which version of the III was presented to MJ. Was it the Black Cement III or the White Cement III?

It was fire red III.

^ I don't think so.

As far as I know it was the white/cement. That is the colorway, along with some black/cements, in Tinker's renderings. The Fire Reds colorway was developedlater.

I believe it was the black/cement. Tinker felt that this colorway showed the contrast in colors and materials better than the white/cement.

Yea guys, it was the Black/Cements.

I always assumed it was the White/Cements, but I recently read an article with someone who was in that famous meeting with MJ, and they confirmed it was theBlacks.

i would think it would be white cement because it a basic color and it was the first colorway to be sold but hey who knows it just sucks the colors theypresent us lol damn gentry

It's definetly the black/cements. Tinker confirms this in the last Jordan book that released for the AJ XX's. He says that he thought the black andelephant print was a better contrast for the wow factor.

My copy of Swoosh: The Unauthorized Story of Nike is at home. Someone reference it there. I think it may be the black/cements.

Weren't these III's also "presented" to Mike for his birthday?

I've yet to see another set of pics of these. Are these a one of a kind pair that only Mike has? Whats the story of these?
