So basically I just want to know how like clock work albums are leaked on the web weeks before their release date?
like what exactly happens?
Is there just a rat in every production company?

That's what I've been thinking.

When they are shipped to different stores, the album therefore becomes leaked. Albums are normally shipped 2-3 weeks before release date--hence the time ittakes for an album to hit the bootleg circuit.

Usually the albums that get leaked a couple weeks in advance is probably just some kid working in a record store or a large chain like Best Buy or somethingcopping when they get shipment and uploading it.

Thats just my opinion. As for the ones leaked months in advance......thats just a rat.

as far as albums go people just get their hands on them early....as far as tracks it can come from the artist...the producer...somebody in hisentourage...anybody really who is around the studio...sorta like how T.I. album "King" leaked early as hell...somebody stole the cd out thestudio...it leaked december 05 but he redid songs and it released in stores in march or april 06 i think

A cd passes through like 5 "different hands"

when the masters are pressed, when the cd is pressed, shipping, the artist crew...

there's a drawing/pic that gives a quick glance at the subject but i wont look for it...sorry.

but music passes through many hands and can get uploaded and leaked reall easy.

that guy in your studio you think is your boy...well he probably starts burning copies and leaks it to put some chip in his pocket.

yeah, another example is Carter 3. Wayne had the album practically done, but with various people coming in and out of the studio somebody snatcheda few tracks and leaked them. in the end, he had to change up the album, and they just threw all the leaked tracks on that Carter 4 Leaks tape.

it sucks, because the original C3 was FIRE since Wayne made most of the tracks in 06-07. but instead, we had 08 autotune, druggie Wayne putting his new trackson there..

basically this sums it up. cds are acquired and uploaded or if its a big release cansometimes be sold to "release groups." i.e. C4, H3X, WHOA or RNS (RiP)
and electronic stores employees know better than to snatch that new CD, im sure they check inventory frequently.

its actually pretty simple...the discs have to be pressed, burned....whatever....too many cats with access at those types of places...its destined to get out

kinda funny how some labels will leak it themselves to see if it will sell bc if its a hit they know its going to sell and its leaked and it sucks its back tothe drawing boards imo
