AIR ZOOM MVP

Just sprained my ASO "protected" right ankle pretty severely in the MVPs and have to bow out from giving them further praise/trying to cop allcolorways as a result. I was crossed up, too, and did not injure myself by landing on a foot or anything.

Back to balling in mids ONLY once I heal (even if the only added support I get from a mid may be entirely superstitious)...

Doesn't sound like it was the shoes fault..

You may need to speak to Mr. Bryant. He may have a product to help you.

I've been crossed up before and have never sprained my ankle as a result, so... it may or may not be the shoe's fault, but I'm staying far awayfrom lows from here on out.

I respect you to the fullest, only a true baller would admit that.

So what happens when you inevitably hurt your ankle in mids?

Not trying to be a jerk, just wondering.

No, I understand.

But I'm not sure... I've never had a serious ankle injury in mids, am 26 years old, and have been hooping since I was 8. When I played in HS, I used ataping/mid combo, and have used an ASO/mid combo post HS for league and pickup games. So, mids have yet to really let me down.

However, my first shot at an ASO/low combo let me down significantly, and I won't forget it.

Again, I'm unsure of how much the low cut actually had to do with my injury, but its certainly done enough to me psychologically to keep me away fromplaying in a low ever again. Having a severely sprained ankle sucks.

Hopefully my experience is something to keep in mind for anyone out there who may be a mid hoops shoe devout, but may be considering trying out a low.

At least it's not a break/fracture like I did in some mids.

either way you go about it, you're not 100% invincible in mids, or lows...

All too true... I've just been empirically traumatized by the Zoom MVP, haha.

When do more colors come out? I'd prefer something white based or those silver ones.

it is almost never the shoe's fault.

i cant express how moronic it is when people blame a shoe and not their own follie.

it's simple odds.

if you would D up and stopped getting crossed so much the likelyhood of turning an ankle greatly reduces.

people always just seem to need a scapegoat.

grabbed a few of these up yesterday:

From my standpoint, I think you're dead wrong. The low cut and lack of ankle suppot of shoe led to my ankle injury. I've been crossed up before, andhave never ever ever ever had an ankle sprain occur as a result until I worse these MVP's. I had ASO's on, too. I have sprained my other ankle comingdown on someone's foot before, but have always had the mid cut/ASO protection against having my ankle broken down by a quick dribble.

I will never go near a low for ball again, and as a result, will never go near a crossover ankle injury again. How am confident in this? I am 26, have beenballing competitively since age 8 in mids, and have only ever had 1 crossover ankle injury. This injury occured in the low-cut MVP's last week.

I'm going to pick up the Jumpman Elite 1 as a replacement for my MVP anklebreakers this weekend... probably be a month until I'll get to try them outat full speed.

No offense....but your reviews on this shoe have been very emotional. One minute they are the greatest thing and then you suddenly want to burnthem.

What do you resort to if next time you ball in mid/high, you get crossed over and sprain your ankle? Do you quit playing ball?

BTW I'm not trying to call you out----my pair is on the way so I'll see for myself.
