Ok i was listenting to Big L-Lifestylez ov da Poor and Dangerous and listen to Jay's verse on Da Graveyard he was rapping all fast and stuff but a year alater he came with Reasonable Doubt and it was so different It was cool and laid back

What do you mean how? Jay has always been able to manipulate his flow. At one point he made a conscious decision to make his main flow be a slower one and itworked out for him. You make it sound like he had to take a class to learn how to slow his flow up or something

he was rockin with kane, whos flow was very ping pong-y, then he started hanging with BIG who has a laid back boss flow

everybody swagger jacks each other, jays flow on kingdom come is jeezy, and now hes a mix of them all + Kanye

Its simple Jays flow has evolved to adjust to the evolved production over the years. His flow is insanely versatile.

More likely, he heard OB4CL.

Nas stans are killing me lately... dudes are worse than the Dipset reign on here.

it ain't that hard really. It took me about 3 months to switch it up. Most fast flows are just regular flows in double time, word to my yearsplaying the sax and studying music. Al you have to do is "hear the beat differently" if that makes sense. I'm sure he figured...like I did when Igave up the fast flows... that 90% of people aren't impressed by how fast you rap. sure, it takes skill, but it's a skill the averageperson isn't necessarily impressed with. That *%%# only entertains the entertainers. The audience wants to hear you. Plus, you'd sound waaaaaydoper if you said witty things at a speed where people could comprehend it on the first go round.

And if ya'll want to get technical, and have the ability to do so, we can discuss how dissimilar his styleis to Nas. They don't even form their lines from the same perspective, let alone in the same way. You can tell if you know what to listen for.. I don'tget how observant people can say Jay bit Nas or Big for that matter. That's like saying Pepsi and Dr. Pepper have something in common besidesoutward appearances.

RILLA IS RIGHT - If you study your craft you'd know Nas rhymes two words before he rhymes the word that will be rhymed on bar two
ex)
Sneaker store terrorist, Mt. Everest I climbed it
Heat is drawn, no creepin on me whenever I'm bent

So terrorist rhymes with everest, but the end word rhyme is climbed it

This is classic nas

Biggie - he likes to put 3 to 4 rhyming words in 2 bars
ex)

Laugh now cry later, I rhyme greater
Than the average playa hater, and spectators

later, greater, hater, spectator all rhyme

These are not Jay's technical rhyme patterns, has he used them? yes, but they not his bread and butter

In My Lifetime was 95, it really wasnt that different.... It was still sped up, he graduately slowed it down over the years.

Listen to RD, then listen to Hard Knock Life...
