Minimum requirement to get into heaven...vol. any pentecostals?

[color= rgb(204, 0, 0)]Basically i think in order to get into heaven you need to establish a relationship with god and acceptjesus christ as your lord and savior...[/color]

[color= rgb(204, 0, 0)]But there are some people who have a relationship with god but still do stuff along the lines ofdrinking/smoking, drugs, etc...after all of that do you still think these people will be accepted in to heaven? (im not judging nor saying who goes to heavenor hell im just asking questions because im still getting my feet wet with church and everything and i have alot of questions)[/color]

I fell like it just depends on your personal relationship with Jesus.

I dont think God sweats the little stuff. We not perfect, and he knows that.
 
I just make sure I live a decent and well intentioned life -- making sure that I do my part to help others as best I can and without doing anything maliciousto others.


if god can't accept that... then he's not my god.

According to Romans 10:9-10 if you confess and believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior, then you will indeed be saved and thus get into heaven, but thats justpart of it. God desires to have a relationship with you. As far as people who claim to to have a relationship with God but do things contrarty to that, couldmean a number of things. Just because you are saved does not mean that you will not sin. As long as you are on earth you will sin. However, God has given usarmour & weapons to combat sin (see Ephesians 6-10-18) and ways to escape temptation (see 1 Corinthians 10:13). Also there are some who claim to have arelationship with God who are just pretending. When you have a relationship with someone you would want to do things that pleases that person and try to avoidthings that upset that person. (John 14:21) The same is with your relationship with God. Of course we are human and mistakes are inevitable but youshouldn't just wallow in your sins, you should get back up and keep walking the Christian walk. I hope this helps.

Yea...right here. According to pentecostals you must be baptized in Jesus name(very important) and recieve the holy ghost which is evident by thespeaking of other tongues...of course you would have to live what is deemed a holy life. Growing up pentecostal...let me tell you, imo, this is the mostjudgemental sector of christianity. I can't explain to you how crappy people that live by this belief will make you feel for ONE sin, when it's clearthat you will sin. Also I think that the emphasis on baptism is ridiculous. I won't try to steer you away...what I will say is regardless the mostimportant thing you can do is make sure you have a relationship with God. Set aside a time to pray and read, let God do the rest. Also don't badgeryourself when you make mistakes...repent and keep it moving.

EDIT what I meant about baptism is...if you are not baptized in Jesus name, you'll go to hell

Even though in the same breath they will tell you that the God head(father,son, and holy ghost) is Jesus.

Accept Jesus into your heart. Let HIM change you and let HIM tell you what is right and wrong. Dont let weird pentacostals tell you what to do, cos trust methere is alot of weird ones out there. oh yeah p.s there is no minimum requirement to get to heaven, its all or nothing with Jesus.

I'm not the most religious person, but to me logic like this is very flawed.

People expect for God to use "Divine Intervention" every time something goes wrong, someone get killed, someone goes hungry, etc. If that was thecase Earth would be Heaven, nobody would get sick, get hurt, etc.

Yes, I question why stuff like this happens, but God gave every person on Earth free-will to do as he chooses. And I guess sometimes (on Earth) gooddoesn't triumph over evil.
 
there are no requirements because heaven doesn't exist. that's like asking how good do i have to be to get presents from santa clause?

Thing is, I'm not sure what to believe in. I grew up Christian, and I still am to this day....but I've been lookin' at Muslim too. It's thesame God, but Jesus isn't God, he was just a messenger....I'm not sure of what happened back then, and I don't know what to believe in. But I dobelieve that there was a God, I just don't know who.

I pray to God if that matters any.

Thats how I look at it...and just have an open and honest relationship with god and that's how I see it

So your more on the spiritual side rather than religion, right?


And to the OP, You have to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. But you must also live the life as God/Jesus would want. Oh and listen/read/follow Gods'word.You wont be judge by your good works but your heart. If you have these and follow these then you should be on your way.
