If you are being claimed as a dependent then no. Your folks will get that money. And to all those getting that money, please let it do what itssupposed to do by spending it. Saving it really gets us nowhere..

I voted for Barrack but I'm a little indifferent about this package thing. I mean why pay the Filipino veterans of WW2? Someone refresh my memory on why.And I think a railroad from Vegas to LA is included?

$400.00?!

thats it?

Somebody... let me know if I'm right or wrong but...

If the government hadn't bailout these banks and automakers and gave tax payers that money instead... each individual would get close to $100,000.00 right?

I mean... wouldn't that be a way to boost the economy?

unfeasible

Sigh. But we have all discussed on this, no reason to continue. Here's to hoping that it somehow works.......

Most individuals will get a $400 tax credit, and most couples will get an $800 credit. That amounts to an extra $13 a week in a person's paycheck, starting in June. That's less than what Obama campaigned on: $500 for individuals and $1,000 per couple.

we are not getting a check like last time instead it is going to take less out of our federal witholdings starting in june.

This @+$% is not going to work. They are rushing into all these stupid stimulus and bailout packages. Nobody is going on a shopping spree with the tax creditthey get from this. It's going in the bank or toward outstanding debt.

$100 different come on man, also take into account house and senate preside over it too.. And the way it is set up you would get less than $2 extra a week

Does anybody know if the credit count toward negative income tax? I'm assuming it does, right? Otherwise, how is this going to help people whoalready receive an EIC?

lol no math fail at all, it is unfeasible giving 100,000 to everyone what the hell does that even solve... If people who hate socialism and communism like thatthen you obviously do not understand the situation... Even giving 2,300 is way too much... A stimulus doesn't work with tax cuts to everyone.. Youconservatives don't understand economics if you think so.. Because giving tax cuts or tax credits doesn't create jobs... Rarely does, rarely will andthis is a circumstance where it will not.. Also giving $2,300 to everyone will be spent within a year hell even 6 months it will basically all spent then in 2years we are back in the same predicament.. Point of stimulus is to boost jobs... Hence where Obama's plan works..

So according to Republicans we should tax cut our way outta a recession when it has been proven that a large percentage of individuals just use the tax creditfor paying off debt or save it. Democrats propose spending our way out of a recession which is just as ridiculous but I think spending has a more chance atreviving an economy than tax cuts. The only downside to all this spending is the high inflation that will occur.

I don't know why everyone on here claims to be some professional economist, most probably never took a Macro class. Just regurgitate what they read frombiased news columns and Fox News.

Lets give it a chance to work and if it doesn't then we hold the Democrats accountable that simple. Right now doing something in an efficient way thatmight be costly is better than doing nothing. We can't worry about the national debt right now its about reviving the economy, China, Japan and the UK areall hurting right now so they understand what we are currently experiencing. But i will say its amazing how in 3 months Republicans have all of a sudden turnedinto budget hawks when under Bush & 6 years of a Republican congress America experienced the largest boost in spending ever and we say the doubling of ournational debt in the course of 8 years. Its total hypocrisy for any republican in congress to try and critique this bill as too much spending... the Iraq waralone cost us 1 Trillion dollars and counting and whats really sad is the Republicans want this bill to fail sooooo bad just so they can regain some seats inthe house and senate, this is suppose to be the party of country first.

Anybody hear about the Stimulus Countdown Package???

Just kidding. But is that $800 for a couple, a piece? Or $800 for both to split?
