Dumb to get a Blackberry if I'm not getting internet w/ it?

Well, it's time to get a new phone and Ive been thinking about getting the Blackberry Curve at Verizon, since it's down to 80 bucks. I don't thinkI'm going to do the whole broadband package though If i get it, since that's 30 bucks a month

But I've always liked Blackberrys and never had one. My question is, is itpointless to get a blackberry if you're not doing the broadband package? Or is there alot of other cool things with it that make it worth getting anyway?
 
i got a curve for only $100 so i said sure why not

internet is too expensive for me, i dont really care though if people say its dumb

i have a blackberry and i'm considering dropping the internet...i guess it'd be still be really nice esp if you texted a lot.
 
the only upside to it is the OS.. it's a hell of a lot better than windows mobile, palm and whatever else you have... the only competition is iphone


but honestly, i don't see the point of having a blackberry without the dataplan unless you got the phone for free

not really dumb if you text a lot. but i thought verizon requires a data plan when you get a blackerry

Do you and don't worry about other folks, it's still has great features that don't require a data package. Verizon however, requires you to have adata package, so question is void unless you change providers.

Really? That's weird. Because my girlfriend was looking at the Blackberry Pearl and told the guy she wouldn't get the data package withit, and he didn't mention that?
 
If it is wifi, sure. Don't know about that specific blackberry. I'm always on campus so wifi without a data plan is awesome for me.
 
Definitely worth it. I have a touch and my campus has wifi so paying money for internet on my blackberry is pointless. I'm not really into phones like thatso all the little trinket #*## doesn't really matter to me. I got mine for free and I love the effectiveness and the fact that it's pretty easy to use.It's like a little pc, granted without internet but I find it incredibly useful for writing down notes to myself and #*##.

Oh and I just find out about PIN messaging (smh at myself) the feature alone is worth it.
 
Can the Blackberry get internet through wi-fi? If so I say go for it. I have an iphone with no data plan and it works out pretty well since I have wi-fi at myhouse and around campus.

ima hook yall up son. LETSTALK.COM go there son they have phones for every carrier DIRT cheap. i got a brand new blackberry curve on tmobile forFREE plus i got 100 dollar rebate card. they basically payed me to get a new phone. they can port numbers and everything and are very secure they call you onthe phone and even ask you three random questions based on your diff residences in the last 10 years lol
